This may sound a silly question, but how much better do speakers sound when fitted properly?
I have some Alpine 6x9s to go in the back side compartments, and earlier I held them whilst testing my wiring and crimping. I was a little underwhelmed by the amount of bass compared to my Infinity co-axials in the front doors.
Once the 6x9s have been fitted and mounted on MDF rings, together with sound-proofing the inner panels, will they then generate a fair amount of bass due to them having a solid panel directly behind them?

Hi mate, there is a world of difference! You will get no base if they are not free air speakers and you hold them, you will realise when they are fitted, I wouldn't worry! Cheers John
