Booked for 1.30 1/5/06. Anyone who wants to join me welcome. Plenty of places left. Cost approx €200 for the afternoon or €300 for the full day session. Need to register on-line on www.mondello.ie and send them a photo of the chariot with the booking.

Come on down!

Skodaman I just will have to see how it goes with work a bit closer to the time. Ive got to work either a Sat or a Sun and I useually take the Sunday off. Will see how it goes.

€300 is about £210 so still an expensive trip when I take in my petrol from Mid Ulster However Im dying to get my first proper drive on a track so Im sure I'll find the dosh if I can get it off work .

Not going on 1/5:- serious front brake problem. SpongeBob SquarePants would feel right at home in it now. Maybe next time.

Sounds like you need a brake bleed Skodaman, I needed one after I had a new rear caliper fitted, it was sponge until I got it re-bled!

Ally are you still going?

Darmtb Im afraid I wont make it as I went to a trackskills day at Kirkistown yesterday 30th April. Was a brilliant day for me even though I went myself. I met a couple of former Coupe owners now in an Evo and M3. A few other people commented to me about seeing either you or Skodaman at Mondello recently and they were talking about a VIP day where its invite only and that you guys might know a bit more about this.

Im going to post in the main general area about my day and put some photos up and hopefully get some advice. I will get down to mondello soon and hopefully you guys can get up to Kirkistown.

Pic form inside Robbies 800bhp R32 GTR.he took me out for 2 sessions and this was the best fun I have ever had in a moving car.

This car is a fecking ANIMAL.Too fast and violent for a track like Mondello.4 wheel drifts even with race logic traction control active.Noise of the massive HKS turbo and wastegate was amazing.Spitting flames when dropping down through the Hollinger sequential gearbox.Great day out.

A Beemer blew up in the morning, then in the afternoon a Prelude went up like the space shuttle, and then a Honda S2000 hit the wall at 60mph and got written off.

Click for the pics.

Seems like I missed quite a good day at Mondello. However I feel it was good for me to start on a smaller track like Kirkistown for my first track day. Will try and make it to a Mondello event soon as Ive got my FMIC fitted to help keep those temps down.

I popped in for awhile on Sunday and watched the racing, got lost trying to find Mondello, no signs anywhere for it on my side , but I know how to get there now .
I seen the Honda in the embankment just after it happened.

That Lexus in the group was so quiet compared to every other car there until it hit a corner and the tyres weren't able to take the corner!!!
Noisest tyres ever!!

Was that 800 bhp Skyline the one with the major rear wheel bias ( Skylines are 4wd aren't they???)
It was drifting all over the place in a spectacular way!!
and the noise off the turbo was amazing!!

V-Spec GTR,s are 4WD,but they can be switched into RWD for burnouts and then switched back to 4WD.

The Skyline I was in was/is my mechanics Blue R32 GTR (had Dynapack stickers all over it and a large carbon wing on the boot) with Nismo engine in it,but with a full race spec build and massive HKS single turbo.Even with Race Logic traction control active it was doing spectacular 4WD drifts through the corners and especially out of Dunlop corner,We were not trying to do it,but with full slicks on and 700 pounds feet torque to boot, the car was just too powerfull for a short/twisty track like Mondello.

Oh and the noise of the inline 6 engine, massive turbo and external wastegate from inside the car was amazing to hear.I have watched the video footage that i took from inside the car several times and the sound is just mental.

Kirko is a far easier track but be warned bout debtors (first left hander on main straight) as its seen more than its fair share of cars on their roofs!!

Robbies GTR skyline on full launch down the track, then blowing the front diff in a cloud of smoke and then converted from 4WD to RWD for the afternoon with 700bhp through the rear wheels. This is in the 2nd clip, drew gasps form the pitwall spectators aswell.

Watch for the car spinning up all the way down the straight, black lines too.Very fast car.Lapped Mondello International circuit in 1 minute 49 seconds.

I went out in this car in its just plain NUTTS/MENTAL for corner speed and acceleration.Enjoy the clips.
