I could be wrong here but I remember a black LE being stripped and parts sold, can't remember where though but it had all it's interior removed and sold.

If I remember correctly the car was going to be scrapped.

Think it was on pistonheads could be wrong though.

Who knows maybe there was a genuine reason for changing the seats? Its a matter of wether to trust the seller or not.

Id go see it first then make my mind up on the car and the owner/seller mate! Could be worth a gamble at the right price!

I saw this ad before I saw this thread, and I was thinking all the same thoughts, changed seats as the 'orthapeadic' seats (in eper, they seem to be described regularly as such) were SO uncomfortable, but what happened to the door cards, belts etc.

I used to own a 309 GTI Goodwood with a standard interior. When I bought it, I asked the owner why it had a regular cloth interior and he just gave me a strange look and told me they all came like that. I got the money knocked off anyway by poking at other things that weren't actually a problem.

Is it just me or does the Coupe seem to be a bad car to read about on ebay. I can't remember reading an ad for a Coupe of any age that was really straight, honest and technically accurate. Statements like this is the Plus model, more powerful than earlier cars, standard fit HIDs, numerous gaffs about the interior, bodykit... It drives me mad. Small wonder the car gets a poor reputation generally when that's the standard the general public sees.

... on the other hand maybe the owner wanted to make as much money as possible from his car. So he just sold the LE interior and now he's selling the car. Good thinking. Might be a perfectly sound car...

Certainly has all the other LE 'adjustments', just no seats or door cards .
