i agree about the price magicsy, but having said that it's worth what someone is willing to pay, surely? i think at least one plus has been sold recently for +£5k so it's not that far off - and for the pimp version it's pretty nice...

Gouki sold his vinci for £5500 but it had lots of mods and a new engine. Was truly MINT. THAT WAS MY OLD CAR And this one is in better condition than that I should know It is a realistic price because if someone really wants it they will buy it and its only around that figure that I would consider parting with it (plate and the wheels are worth 1500) It is a future classic. As I say im not fussed if it sells or not Please dont be offended guys, dont want to p*ss people off

I'm currently looking to buy a mint plus preferably modded and in grey. (See wanted ad) If £6.5K is what it would take to buy it then that would be the price I would pay. Not everyone is looking for a cheap Coupe

I do love this car but I cant pay 6.5k for it. Without wanting to sound rude, if you dont want to sell it why advertise it? If you need to sell it then surely a more realistic price should be set? Either way good luck to you I think sometimes you need to go through an exercise like this! It's a cracker of a car, why would he want shut of it? However, if you do decide to drop the price by say, hmm, 50%, drop me a line!! Gorgeous car, worth every penny if you want a Vinci LE, they are worth what people are prepared to pay. If I wanted a Vinci, had buckets of cash and it was the only one that had come up for years, I'd buy it! Best of luck, hope it doesn't sell! Gareth

Keep holding out on the price EDz makes the Vinci owners smile and still be able to warrant the big bills when they arrive Its not just limied edition but a rare colour that looks damn good on the coupe.

As someone who's always looking for the cheapest of the cheap, I personally think thats priced not to sell.
However, I think its probably priced right, as they are SOO rare at the moment.

Why don't you put the original wheels and plate back on the car and sell them separately? If they are worth £1500, you could reduce your asking price to £5000-£5500 and then it would be priced to sell. Reason for leaving those bits with the car is that if I dont sell it, the car is the way I love it.

So fiat Coupes dont go wrong more than most cars??? i think "YOU" understand my post. take a look at the technical area..
I would not bother to compare a car vs another car without being more detailed. No, I would not say that a 'fiat Coupes' go wrong more than any other 10/15 year old performance turbo car. Looking at the technical sector is by no means a measure of how much the car goes wrong, as it does not take into account numerous variables such as previous condition and maintenance of the car etc. Any such hypothesis about the technical sector is flawed. Jimo why delete my entire post over a "u"? Is this a case of attack the guy who thinks the EDZ priced not to sell is a pointless thread. and the guy who dares to think the coop is a fiat? Anyways enough of "plank" etc. im probs or probably to JimO going to be a coop owner again myself before Christmas Plank. That is correct JimO is out to get you. Obviously because you have an opinion, nothing what so ever to do with not adhering to forum rules. You can dare to think whatever you want, it is you who seem to be concerned about it being a Fiat. I am not going to take this thread any further off topic with replies to the above woeful posts. My apologies to the original poster.

lol guys its a Fiat.... they go wrong. yep - unlike scoobies.... any 10 yr old performance car will have issues if not maintained - from what i can see this is rigorously maintained and lovingly cared for - i'd wager this car is therefore VERY reliable...

EDz,
I think it's great that you are prepared to stand by the quality of your car and ask a high price. If more owners do that, perhaps people will realise how criminally undervalued these cars are.

It's Edz car, he can ask what he wants.
I was in a similar position last year, asking a bit more for my car than many thought it was worth, because I wasn't in a rush to sell. After four months I got the price I was after (more than Edz is asking).
You go for it mate. Good luck with the sale.

These cars are undervalued so i think its worth every penny really, i payed £2300 for my coupe about 1 1/2 years ago and i thought these cars were bargains when i started looking at buying one. strange how they are so undervalued, but i think those times will change.

"You can see from the pictures how s**** this buggy is, its never been in the rain garaged all the time, new engine only covered about 100 miles had no time to enjoy the buggy because It has not stopped raining this year and I have no beach. Selling because its time for a new project no other reason the buggy has just been sorn'd its mot`d until April 2010. This buggy really does bring a smile where every it goes everybody notices it people take photos of it (For Barryboys!)ask about it, it truly is one of a kind ( Yeah no kidding Sherlock)and i will be sad to see it go but it needs to be used more" I might be tempted in a swap myself - maybe for a dish cloth or and old football. I wouldn't drive that if you gave it to me. I can see how it would appeal to someone who lives in Cumbria What purpose does it serve

I think one big issue is being ignored- What would the insurance pay-out be on the car... If you can't get an agreed value then that would influence how much I paid for the car.

I think one big issue is being ignored- What would the insurance pay-out be on the car... If you can't get an agreed value then that would influence how much I paid for the car. Very good point. Ross

Edz....Car looks fantastic - best of luck with it mate I paid less than that for mine but if I was looking for an LE now I would not be put off by that price. Still say its an absolute bargain for the looks/performance/noise/style you get per buck. What else can you get for that money? Out of interest mate are the Turbo and Clutch uprated? Looking to de-Cat mine?

Stunning car Edz, stunning. It's the sort of motor that would tempt me back to coupe ownership. <I must resist, I must resist>

Wow....that is one good looking coupe. If i had £6k to spend on a car, this would be the one. Drop the front down half an inch (maybe 1 inch) and I think it would be perfect.

These cars are undervalued so i think its worth every penny really, i payed £2300 for my coupe about 1 1/2 years ago and i thought these cars were bargains when i started looking at buying one. strange how they are so undervalued, but i think those times will change. They were saying that about 4 years ago when I had my first coop.....the broom yellow one. Nothing has changed and they are still as cheap to buy and very expensive when things go wrong. Nice car though. Paul

Over £6000 ? I just paid £2000 for a 2001 and 56000 mile (how old is your pensioner and mileage ?) 20VT,leather and all the trimmings...in excellent nick as well. over £6000 for a coop....you are taking the michael. I tell you you what.....you are right about one thing, you will end up keeping this car. If you are not fussed on selling it,what are you doing advertising here at a stupid price that no one with any sense is going to even come close to offering ?

You got a bargain by the sounds of it good luck with your new car bet you wont sell it for 2k and as I know no FORUM member would of sold the above mention car for that price. My car is worth every penny of the 6k+ that I am asking And yes I am not fussed Its only lack of space that I have taken a chance of selling it

any need? it's all about opinions and, more importantly, who's willing to stump up the cash. in a buyers market it's only worth what someone will pay

Spit - The average price for an LE is £4000 for a good condition one. Edz coupe is Mint - and i can assure you there will be someone who will be willing to pay "near" to that for a mint coupe. Its a bit out of my price range to be honest Yes £2000 may get you a coupe that looks nice - infact even £1500... i will come back to the person in a year and ask them how much money they have had to spend.... If you are not fussed on selling it,what are you doing advertising here at a stupid price that no one with any sense is going to even come close to offering ? Some people buy cars on here for the passion of the car, i would feel happier paying the extra for a coupe that has been looked after. If someone slaps on a "stupidly" high price on their coupe then it shows me that they have cared for that car and have put a lot of money into it. I owned a 20v NA Coupe - They go for about £800... there is no way on earth i would have let it go for less than £2500. While that is 20vt money you would not find another car in any of the ranges in the condition that my one was for that price. Peorsonally spit i think Edz in denial and he will end up holding onto that coupe for ever lol Good luck with you car mate - and if you have managed to get yourself a mint one at that price - well you have done very well I guess at the end of the day its all about what people are willing to pay. . . so only time will tell on this one Spit we need cars like this to sell at higher prices. If people start to pay more for coupes then they will start to go up in value. Come on you must have seen some of the tat for sale on Pistonheads these days

As I said in my earlier post....I would definitely pay over £6k for this coupe. I am currently trying to raise £4k to buy my first LE (Had a few Coupe's but never an LE) and I am seriously considering holding off and saving a bit more to get hold of this one. The only problem is, when I get to the £5k mark and I have access to pretty much any decent LE up for sale, will I have the will power to keep saving......I hope so.

Chrissy Ask Flea....he just remapped it. If anyone wants to pay 6K for a coop...that's up to them. This is a forum and I am giving my opinion here.......no coop.....unless it's flea's and pushing out crazy power is worth over £6000 (in my opinion)

I dont want to start arguments But as the Only VINCI GREY L.E for sale with 18s In real nice condition I feel I can ask as much as I feel its worth. As I said you grabbed a bargain from someone who didn't know what they had, well done to you You grabbed a bargain in fact you stole at the price and well done to you. Like I said you wont sell it for 2k But Mario is right I doubt if I really want to sell it It look fantastic last night at the ACE Cafe everyone payed it lots of compliments

arguments are what forums are all about (sorry, heated discussions). Spit is entitled to his opinion and he did really well getting a sorted coupe with that mileage at that price, but the fact remains, several people on this thread have said they would pay £6250 for this coupe if they had it...in my humble opinion that means its worth £6250.
P.S. anyone got about £3k they want to lend me:)

No arguments here mate.....used to get into enough trouble here 5 years ago arguing It's just an opinion mate and not one that should be taken personally. If you can get 6K for it......good for you. Same as it was good for me that I got my coop for 2K. There is obviously no comparison between mine and yours.....I know that mate. Yours being worth a lot more than mine......

Car looks stunning, but priced not to sell is right IMO. It's true there may be someone out there willing to pay the asking price, but then there's people out there willing to give their bank details to Nigerian Generals!!!! Again and only in my tight fisted opinion, the price is right for the condition of the car, but only in ten years time. And that's assuming Europe, Japan and America have crippled the middle and far east, brought China to it's knees and are controlling the supply of global energy resources We have a tendency of talking about future classics as if the future of the internal combustion engine was secure. Chances are by the time coops have reached the heady heights of a truly rare classic, the only option of keeping it on the road will be to fork out another £30K on top of the £10k purchase price getting it converted to run on fresh air and the bleating breath of new born lambs.

without doubt a cracking looking example.. i wonder what it books at with that mileage and condition.... i agree with a lot of comments on here but i do feel an owners valuation always IS a lot higher than say the glass guide...personally i dont think theres many people prepared to pay the asking price.. like a good few people on here i wouldn't pay anywhere near it but i always pay close to true market value of any car i buy ... i am prepared to say that i bet theres some good examples about when sat side by side and detailed wouldnt look a poor 2nd and at half the value... of course not an le.. i have owned 4 20vt's and would say they have all been the best value bang for buck cars i have owned all avg condition but decent histories and none have let me down..unlike most jap cars i have had!! my last 3 if bought alltogether would still only total £5400! 2007-£2200,2008-£1600,2009-£1600..of which the 2008 porto endured the famous nordschliefe track a 1200 mile roadtrip on little more than a good service new tyres and brakes! so impressed with reliability...maybe i have just been lucky! i do love these cars and hope you realise a sale at that price however it is probably the most optmistic ad i have seen on here. just my opinion ..good luck either way.mj

Indeed, a car is worth whatever one individual is prepared to pay Book value is rubbish for anything slightly unusual - my Mini was valued by a dealer at £5300 yesterday, I would get £7500 privately Might work for a silver 1.6 Focus...

As far as I am concerned,it is heaps of money when you see what coupes, some in very good condition are going for. I still think you are right in what you called the original for sale thread.

Bloody 'ell Edz that really does look nice. If I was still in the market for a good LE I would have been interested. Even at that money what else can you get? Looks superb I was lucky when I got mine. MotorMech is not far from me and looks after all my cars. I happened to ask him if he knew of any good LE's for sale and not long after I bought his!! I originally wanted a Chrono but TBH (and Silver was my last choice really) they look great in all colours IMO.

Sorry to burst that bubble but a lot of LE's didn't get registered as LE's. They just show up as 20vt's on the DVLA database, blame the dealers..... Yep mines only listed as a 20VT

I will do but not yet Im quite happy to keep the Coupe, it just not getting the use it deserves I would like someone like myself who would enjoy the car and look after it the same way I have, having owned the car for nearly 5 years just giving someone else a chance to have it (this is my 4th Coupe and second grey L.E )

why dont we just do a swap Theres very little difference between yours and mine.... apart from the fact that yours works, the bodywork is better, wheels are clean and non standard, leather is in better nick...other than that there identical, you'd be getting a good deal

I always knew this would be a work in progress at all times and although I might sound a little negative towards it now.....I still love it. P.S. it was an engine mount not the driveshaft. Apologies for nicking the thread momentarily Back on subject...I do like the PIU bumber (looks awesome on the pic with the Zonda) I personally think EDz car is bang on as it is....I would maybe put the standard wheels back on it....but thats just me

I dnno mate If you didnt drive it, ide say sell but you do drive it.. plus you will miss us all and end up buying another one. One which will never compare. However its your decision at the end of the day and i wish you luck in whatever you do! You better still show your face on Thursdays though!!!! You know you will miss those wholesome meals!
