You would need to modify the front wheelarches to go much lower than 40m I reckon. There isn't much of a gap between the liner and the tyre.

Well spotted about arches i remember now when i dropped mine low , it was rubbing on the inside on the full turn and over the speed bumps ,but that was on 18' alloys , so i would imagine on 16' , 17' you can go a little bit lower...

I'll try standard shocks next. I thought the same about the wheels, but to be honest I couldn't tell much of a difference in ride quality when I put the standard 16s on while getting the 18s refurbished.



I already have the Recaros (air-bag type) as it's a Plus.

Im thinking of getting the Apex ones for now, i know its the cheaper and lesser reccomended option but i need the car back on the road asap.

Will there be any additional work involved in lowering it by 35mm on the back?

Nope - Eibachs drop 30-35mm all round - no issues with cleareance etc.

Probably 40 to 50mm max although you'd have no travel at that height and the handling would be ruined.

I wouldn't go with the Apex ones either. The car will handle and ride worse, you will get creaking from the top mounts due to the shape of the top coil, and the back will be higher than the front.

I just fitted Apex springs with new dampers on my 16VT and they're great (just like Frosties) no creaking or anything. These 16VT springs aren't progressive wound like the 20VT ones seem to be so they don't have the "useless" coil-bound bit. I wonder if 16VT springs would work properly on a 20VT?
