I'd like to move to the lower profile tyres from the standard 205 rubber.

Do you think it would be okay to change just a pair (ie. when fronts where out) and running lower profiles on back until older higher profile tyres wear out on the front ?

Thanks

Do you mean to the Le spec tyres? I believe they're 225 wide so even with a lower aspect ratio they will be as tall as the tyres you have. The profile is represented by the smaller number, I think it's 50 in your case. This number represents the percentage of the tyre width

But the answer is yes it is legal. How the car will handle I couldn't comment, but legally speaking all that is required is that tyres match (for size) in axle pairs.

I've got 225s on the front and 205s on the rear right now while I sort out a wheel problem. Drives fine. If you change the wheel diameter tho then you will make a small change to the gearing and throw out the speedo.
