Fiat Coupe Meeting Sofia(Bulgaria) 7 July 2012

Hi mates,
Yesterday we had a small meeting in Sofia and now we are planning a national meeting. Here are some photos. Hope you like it

Can you get some of your people to come to SpaItalia next year Kaci?

We are hoping to get a good turn out for the 20th aniversary of the Coupe in Europe.

This will be great, but I think it is almost impossible.
We live in a poor country and the release of a large amount for travel and hotel will be a problem.
I will speak with Ferrarist, and if he agrees, in Spa will have two Coupe from Bulgaria, if not, I will be alone.

Somewhere I read that for 20th anniversary of the Coupe will be celebrated in Italy!

Whereabouts in Sofia was that? I wanted to say Yuzen Park, but maybe it's somewhere up in Vitosha, above the Boyana Church, or over towards Dragalevtsi/Simeonovo/Bogoroditsa?

I was over in Sofia and Borovets in my 'puny' Punto GT 1.4T over the winter of 2005/2006, FWIW. Amazing adventure, except for buckling a rim severely on the 'Ring Road' potholes. Fortunately, my then Bulgarian GF found a backstreet 'fixer' who had all the right gear to true all my rims at a bargain price. Who would have thunk it?

Hmm, I'm not familiar with a district by that name. I would rent an apartment on Ulitsa Layosh Koshut, for about a month's stay. My GF was very keen on walking in Vitosha mountain's National Park, so we'd drive up Tsar Simeon I and collect spring water there or walk up from different points around the perimeter of the mountain park area.

I almost bought an apartment in Ovcha Kupel, too, but dropped that after I finally got clued in to her arrogant, self-centred attitude to me. Hey ho, all part of life's rich taperstry.

Absolutely agree with you, it's a Disgusting place just like most of the residential districts in our town....

Well, I first considered an apartment just off "Five Corners" (ulitsa Buzludzha), but the (Russian?) developers wouldn't allow me one with two parking spaces for some unfathomable reason to do with possible complaints from the shops on the ground floor? It's all a bit moot now, but I stayed in a couple of temporary flats on Ulitsa Bacho Kiro and walked around most of the city centre, but that was sort of because the GF worked for a property developer/landlord etc. who arranged them, initially.

The apartment on Layosh Koshut was far nicer, and cheaper, via a small rental agency (Gosposa Kirova?) somewhere near the pedestrianised bulevard Vitosha's cross-streets?
