Well I am shocked

We are both really looking forward to the trip

It would have been nice to be in convoy through Kent, France and Belgium with some fellow UK Coupes but it looks like we will be on our own

Will have to comfort myself with some nice Limburg Beers on arrival

Re: International Dutch Meeting (28-9 / 1-10 2006) - 22/08/2006 20:19

Do not worry about the Belgian and Limburg beers and vlaai, there will be plenty as usual.

If you like to stay a little longer the Hotel offers us an additional 3 nights stay with breakfasts and 4 course dinner every evening for around 100GBP P.P, just to think about. There is enough to see in our region. e.g.1 hour drive from Nurnburgring. Eifel and Ardennen are both just 1/2 hour drive. Cologne Aachen or Maastricht, just around the corner.

I would love to stay for an extra few nights but have to get back for Adam (School)

For those that don't know there is plenty to do in this area, Maastricht, Monschau, Valkenburg are nice places to visit and the Autobahn is just a few miles away too

Instead of the scenery road through upper ardennen/Eifel to weisweiler power plant we will take a part of the A4/A44 without speedlimit.

For those who will join us for just one day or just the weekend, are invited too!!

What a fantastic weekend, Mr & Mrs Barmybob had a great time

Pictures will follow soon but it's 11pm and we have only just got back. There was a massive traffic jam at Calais this afternoon so we missed our ferry and had to take a later one

I think Heikki will just about be boarding his boat for his 24hr crossing

Indeed it does

I will have to start looking at how to get there. Current route from AUTOROUTE says 1500 miles and 22 hours driving time

Re: International Dutch Meeting (28-9 / 1-10 2006) - 02/12/2006 00:57

Blimey it is goint to be expensive getting the car there

It is going to take at least two ferry trips with the first leg of Harwich to Denmark already over £700

Might be cheaper to fly and rent a car when there, although a RHD Coupe in Finland would be cool

Come you pussy. This is not about costs now is it?
You aleady missed out on the Turin meet back in 2004 and you still suffer from it! (me too cos you weren't there )

Get the old Capri sorted out and it's just going to be lovely jubbly.

Re: International Dutch Meeting (28-9 / 1-10 2006) - 03/12/2006 05:16

Pieter

It is so nice to know that you care so much about me now stop it before people start talking

I will apply for the time off work soon (Should all be fine) and then I will start putting all the prices together. It is going to take a lot of organising and have to also accept it will be a lot of miles for the Coupé.

We will have to plan in quite a few stops on the way, I currently can't decide on Rostock - Finland or Stolkholm - Finland. I will not look forward to the 12 or 24hr ferry though.

Ohhh and I am more like FAT man than BAT man mate

Re: International Dutch Meeting (28-9 / 1-10 2006) - 04/12/2006 16:28

Hi,

Wat about just a 800km drive(own cost) in total from CSP to Palokka and interrupted by a boattrip from Rostock Germany to Helsinki(27hours). Total cost for the boattrip per car(2 persons) is inkl dinner, lunch and breakfast 1000eur in total. We need at least 10 persons so 5 cars. Alesi, I think some Italians are crazy enough to come along too, or?

Re: International Dutch Meeting (28-9 / 1-10 2006) - 05/12/2006 02:53

This sounds like a fantastic option and would be the preferred Bob + 2 route, count us in

I was not looking forward to the 27hr ferry crossing but with some good company I am sure the time will fly
