I struggle to credit any car which has :-

1. Only one easily viewable picture
2. Describes the interior but provides no pic
3. Shows pictures with parts which are not supplied with the car.

Sounds like a BIG problem; £2K min to fix and end up with a car worth £2K.......

Been there, done that, not again!

This was the Le that was for sale on eBay a few months back.

If its a lad called James that still owns it then:-

I wouldnt trust him as he still owes me for a car registered in my name that he sold without me knowing which is still going through the courts now despite them issuing him with a further ccj.

Also in credit checking him he's on the run from about every company in Britain .

So make sure you get his number and meet him at his house and don't pay him cash.
He's a tall thin chap and doesn't say much.
If it isn't owned now by him then at the very least ensure the hpi check doesn't show finance outstanding .

The car had knocked out the bigends a few months back so assume the oil cooler and turbo will also be scrap.

Jamie Rich is the name on the PH advert and the car is pretty local to you John.

Is that a fog light under the rear bumper? Browsing on iPhone so could be mistaken.... Import?

I saw the name Pete, Derbyshire was where he lived. And he also
Liked spelling brake discs incorrectly with a "k"

I think the battery has been removed solely to stop you hearing the knocking .
Either way the engines scrap.
Loss of compression wouldn't stop it starting unless chod or belt failure.
