Modded or standard? After 23 coupes, I'll be on an LE or Plus next :):)

Bilstein suspension, cat back exhaust, usual coolant pipe upgrades, that's about it and tbh, other than a remap and rear ARB, that's how it will stay :-)

I believe a 260-270hp coupe is where the most fun is.

Yes fella complete pisser and I'm not going to start judging people but I do have a feeling the seller knew there would be a issue, but not going to dwell on it as it will get me no where.

My son may have one, but he is not completely convinced of its suitability yet: he is checking it out in the next couple of days.

It rattles between 3-4k rpm,

I saw the oil pressure gauge drop to zero just before.

Funny enough it does not knock on tick over.

If things don't add up, & you can agree possibly with the seller that the cars failed due to things you had both seen upon viewing the car, You then have some come back I would say,

For example -

2 years I sold an MR2 GT-S Turbo to a guy, He looked at it, drove it, loved it, It was left idling outside for 30+ mins shile we talked £££,

It then turns out the head gasked failed on his way home so badly, He needed a whole new engine,

As the car was 100% fine with me, & upon test drive etc etc, When he demanded I paid 75% of the repairs, I simply said - Fluff off.

It's tough - and i am sad for you pal, Just hope a lump is sourced quickly for you,

P.S - I am interested to know the points of you believing how the car failed? What was it that you saw / noticed?

I agree and I have been civil about it, I can really cause issues if I want but those days are gone, shit happens.

Car is silent on tick over but knocks 3k and over, oil pressure went down to zero at a set of lights, so putting those both together = bearings.

I could be wrong so will put up a vid in a minute.

Lol no there was nothing, and I mean nothing. I was told that the gauge was reading 1/2 a bar lower than showing when checked with mechanical gauge. So fiat gauge shows 1bar at tickover, and mechanical 1.5bar. That's it.

Was it warmed up to temp properly, before you brought it the oil temp needed to be really hot around the 80c mark before it would show on gauge properly .

Yes been driving for 15-20 mins.

1 bar on hot tickover is far to low for 20vt you should be around double that for a healthy lump and the seller would have know this and should have told you buddy.

If it has got to have a replacement engine I would get the car taken to a specialist and have it installed and before that have the front chassis legs, outriggers and cross-member refurbished so you can make a totally mint coop.

There's a forged block for sale in the for sale section. You could whack that in and then you have the pleasure of the options that go with!

As much as this is a complete pisser Nismo has offered to refund 90% of the money paid once the car has been returned. Just need to wait for the V5 so we can sort.

Judging by the amount of posts the search bar turns up on the topic of "Oil pressure fine then suddenly metal on metal BANG!", its a perhaps a bit harsh to assume that the seller knew...

The car looks stunning so really this is a proper excuse to forge the internals and make her surely one of the best examples of an LE in the country

All a complete surprise when it was a "kent" car, but a great example for all to see an arrangement made which sounds acceptable to both parties
