seems every garage uses the red key to start it, yet theres the metal key hanging there :/, seems a good buy, lets hope an enthusiast gets this before a boy racer does at that price

The mileage seems to have changed a bit between adverts! But which advert came first? Is the "preloved" one the older advert?

Re: This looks like a good buy for somebody - 11/06/2015 08:22

I once phoned about a 156 advertised on Preloved.

The guy was surprised the car was still advertised as he'd sold it 6 months earlier!

I reckon the bloke selling the Coupe couldn't sell it privately at that price so chopped it in against something less good looking....

The "preloved" advert says it was updated "more than 21 days ago" so it looks like the car failed to sell privately and was traded in.

Re: This looks like a good buy for somebody - 11/06/2015 11:01

I saw it on preloved a couple of weeks ago. I think I was following a link on here to another car and then looked for all the coupes listed.

With a short MOT the price then was too high I thought.

So it either has some problems underneath that meant it wont get through an MOT without work or the owner couldn't be bothered and traded it in. Wonder if we'll find out?

At 995 though it was well worth the taking a chance.

Reappeared - same seller. Added a grand to the price?

Coupe prices now going up at £1k per week ?

Re: This looks like a good buy for somebody - 12/06/2015 15:41

They must have had a lot of interest/calls on it.

Wonder if it did actually sell or they just pulled it to re-list at a higher price?

If they'd put 12 months mot on it it would be worth the increase but as it is they're having a laugh

Re: This looks like a good buy for somebody - 12/06/2015 19:43

I phoned about the car yesterday, told me someone was going to take it for the original asking price of £995 also said they had had alot of attention and phone calls about it but would ring me back if it didn't sell.

So when I didn't get the call back I assumed it sold, pretty annoying really as I would have haggled and taken it regardless of its condition, however I've read on one of the Facebook pages it's got a heating issue amongst other things.

Apologies for the bump.. I now own this - £900 with a slightly smoky Turbo

It's new owner (Local to me in the North East) couldn't leave the boost alone and the ageing TB2810 has had a hissy fit!

Has a pre-98 engine with apparent water temp sensor wiring issues

Can you shot me a link? The heaters are stuck on hot, but i can still control the speed setting!

Re: This looks like a good buy for somebody - 23/06/2015 22:29

Isn't that amazing, originally the seller wanted £995.00 and people were all over it like a rash so he withdrew the sale and relisted it at £1995.00 rolleyes

For £900.00 I think you did OK even with the issues and smoky turbo thumb

Re: This looks like a good buy for somebody - 23/06/2015 22:32

Its suspiciously un-rusty..... especially for one of the later examples!

Re: This looks like a good buy for somebody - 23/06/2015 22:36

The online MOT info page listed an advisory for rust on floor pans so needs checking just in case they've been plastered over with sticky under seal.

Just checked the paperwork again....
Invoice for £1600 from that garage in Somerset.
Further invoice from a local garage for replacement brakepipes, new t/stat etc last week.
