It's been for sale by them for over a year I think. Someone must have been to see it and walked away I imagine.
So it makes you wonder what's the script?

Haha!! How not to sell a car! This garage has had this car up for sale on eBay for nearly two years now! There customer service must be amazing!

"Dealer-option OZ alloys" - really?

Looks nice, but the dealer is not well informed and isn't endearing himself to potential buyers with the "ugly" comment about standard wheels

Looks clean though....

Yeah, that was the bit I liked Nigel. He obviously reckons he's an authority on them and doesn't sound like he's got any time for anyone who thinks differently.

After two years you'd think he might change the ad/attitude but hey, who needs sales eh? wink

Badly worded ad. No pics of driver's door?

What we can see does look clean but 6.5k is a lot.

The last car I paid six grand for I'm still driving 200k miles later - "not a daily driver" my elbow.

Pretty sure this car was more money initially - think the price started with a £7...? I bought mine two years ago for exactly half what they're asking now and mine had a lot less miles. Perhaps it's the special wheels that add the value...

It does look nice, and I've always liked that colour, and perhaps it's about time the earlier models get some appreciation now? I realise there's an obsession with LEs and Plus's but I've always preferred the purity of the original design and with black lower section on the bodywork. Then again, perhaps I'm just biased.

Agree the seller comes across arrogant though.

When it was first put up for sale it was £5000,
Also the person probably buying this car would be an enthusiast or someone who's done a bit of research, will know the wheels arnt an optional extra.when garages say wrong things they just make themselves look bad,and you wonder what else there not telling you.

This was up for sale 2 years ago while I was looking to buy.
I'm sure it was up for £4995 back then, as I had a limit of 5k to purchase one, which is why I contacted him to get more info.
I wasn't impressed with his phone manner, knowledge or vague answers to my questions.
It's price had been increased to 6k sometime last year, and more recently 6.5k.

It'll be £10k by the end of next week!

I've seen this advert for as long as I can remember running on eBay. It'll still be in their warm heated showroom in 10 years time I'd wager!

To answer the title .... Yes we do. The owner is stubborn as hell smile

I remember reading about this on here quite some time ago.

"IMPORTANT: DUE TO THE AGE AND NATURE OF A CLASSIC CAR, THIS IS OFFERED WITHOUT OUR USUAL WARRANTY TERMS OR GUARANTEES"
He obviously isn't aware of the current regulations about selling used cars without a warranty either! rolleyes

I wonder when the belts were last changed? They must be due again if he has had it for so long?

Re: Anyone know anything about this one? - 04/02/2017 22:10

Thought the same thing myself about the belts.

Has it been kept in the 'heated showroom' for 2 years having not moved? The tyres will have flat spots then. Or has it been started and moved a few feet here and there and not getting chance to reach temperature? All nicely choked up then. There are plenty of threads on here from people who have saved a Coupe after it has been stood still for years and having to spend a fair bit of cash. I parked mine up for 3 months this winter (giving it 2 runs in this time though), and the rear brakes started sticking, the battery decided to properly die, and the gearbox has started misbehaving. Typical.

Cars need to be used (in my opinion). That's what they were designed for. The best thing the seller could do is brush aside his attitude, sell it, and let someone enjoy it.

Shame they haven't treated the leather interior whilst its been sitting in the lovely warm showroom to prevent it drying out and cracking as it has done.

What style and size OZ wheels are those anyway, they do look good but certainly not a coupe dealer option and they don't look 16" as described in the ad........

They're 18" Superturismo. They were standard on the Stilo Schumacher and readily aftermarket. I doubt dealer or period.

They need to drop the price considerably if they really want to sell it, that's silly money.

It is and it isn't, I see both arguments about low and high prices but it really depends on who's looking to buy, why they want a coupe, how badly they want it and how much money they have to throw at a new toy. Remember good coupes are getting rarer and prices WILL climb........supply and demand!
