Well it's only taken 12 years from when LE62 went into the garage for it to come back out. Bit like a single malt really.

Looks nice. One way to keep the miles down.

Lovely!

Are you coming on the Tour in July? You could team up with driley+1 who are coming into Aberdeen from Stronsay, and catch up with the rest of us at the House of Bruar......

Yes, looks nice. Is that "garage" as in somewhere it's just been sat for 12 years (and moved or started occasionally? ) or somewhere where it has been worked on at all? Voltage looks very low however, may need a new battery and/or alternator?

The Tour in July could be an option. Could you fill me in with the dates.

Thanks for the positive comments.

The car has had some work done in the garage;

-New belts and pulleys/tensioners, including new water pump with metal impellor and rewrinkled cam cover. New cam position sensor (just in case).

-Silicone hoses for turbo including uprated clamps as the Fiat type are not easily re-usable.

-Refurbed calipers all round, with Pagid RS29 yellow pads, APD 42160S discs and new top mounts and bearings on the front. Oh and new braided flexibles.

-New Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs all round.

-Direnza aluminium radiator with old coolant flushed out and replaced.

-New oil filter and Silkolene oil. Oil cooler pipes looked pretty good, however wrapped them in self-amalgamating tape as a precaution.

-Checked the compressor on the turbo with a boroscope and it seemed pretty good.

-Removed the intercooler and power washed all the crud out from between the cooling fins.

-Removed radiator lower support bracket and painted. Same with intercooler and oil cooler brackets.

-New plugs and air filter.

I had spare track-rod ends, lower wishbones, anti roll bar bushes and engine mounts, but didn't need to install them as the existing parts on the car were all good.

Still needs some minor work done and then an MOT.

I have some performance parts for the car; forged rods and pistons, uprated turbo etc but decided that for now I will keep the car standard regarding power and try to enjoy the summer with it. I have a spare engine which I can possibly re-build/uprate instead.

I took the photo of the oil pressure just after I had switched the engine off but with the ignition on. Don't ask me why. Alternator is ok as voltage was higher with engine running. Battery needed a bit of a charge, but I forgot, and wanting to start the car got the better of me.

Hey Skeandubh,

This car sounds like quite a Piece of gear-

It'd be great to meet you and see it, if you can make it on the tour this summer...

Will you be taking her to any shows this year?

Not sure about any shows, but probably the North of Scotland tour.

LE62 passed its MOT first time today, with no advisories. It only travelled 5 miles to the MOT centre (and in the last 12 years) so pretty happy with that.
