2.0 16vt or no 2.0 16vt? That is the question. - 30/05/2017 14:04

hi all,

new here & interested in some opinions on the 2.0 16vt & to see what you guys think of this model? i can hear all of you 5 cylinder guys saying that 5 is the only way to go but i like the originality of the 4 cylinder.

also, i know the whole "best colour" option has been widely discussed but i am drawn to the chamonix green for no real reason.

any thoughts/opinions appreciated.

thanks,

coupeag

I like both of them....

but the 5 sounds better. smile

Really depends what you want the car for - classic collector, tuning, etc...

Advice on colours - just go for the one that YOU like, not what everyone else likes. laugh

For what its worth here are my favourites:

Scotts Green
Broom Yellow (as long as polished and not faded)
Sprint Blue (as long as polished and not faded)
Vinci Gray

Thanks suba,

Yeah, I have to agree. Model & colour are always a very personal choice. Whatever I end up buying, as long as it has not been messed with, it will be a keeper so that's got to be worth it smile

Try to drive both 4 and 5 cylinder versions before you settle for one or the other; they are very different drives. 16 VTs are thin on the ground, so that may be difficult.

I'm guessing they are rare in Ireland too?

I think the Coupe in general is rare enough here. Having said that, there are 2 within 15 minutes walk from where I live! They would have been silly money when new & the insurance here is a joke. Have not seen a 16vt around though.

I actually prefer my 16vt to the 2 x 20vt's I've had.
It feels a bit sharper at the front and it sounds like an Integrale which is no bad thing laugh
The 5 pot sounds fantastic but this makes a good noise for a 4 banger!

As they are so thin on the ground it might also be worth considering one that has some minor mods, as it will be pretty easy to put them back to standard.
(Unless it's bodywork then it could be expensive/time consuming to rectify)
