This is probably about the nearest thing but there's a lot of broken links:

My goodness, that's an old thread that started 12 years ago with a lot of now "Anonymous" (unregistered) users and no doubt a lot of Coupes that are no longer with us frown

It’s a shame we don’t have a GARAGE function like on pistonheads.
We might be able to have a fccuk FLEET option then.

Re: members cars - 18/07/2018 08:33

Is anyone interested if I start to keep a register of UK Coupe ownership?

We would need following data to produce some interesting stats: -

1. forumname
2. registration
3. year purchased
4. model
5. colour
6. condition/use

Could I suggest that if there's going to be a database of Coupes, it would be REALLY useful if the CAR can be searched on, as well as the owners.

We're always banging on about history and condition over age and mileage, so it would be great to be able to trace a car's ownership history without having to take investigation lessons from Sherlock

Just to clarify

1. forumname
2. car registration
3. year purchased
4. model
5. colour
6. condition/use

Would this suffice?

Re: members cars - 18/07/2018 09:19

Wouldn't this, as good an idea as it is, be a GDPR accident waiting to happen?

Good point ..

1. anonymised forumname
2. car registration
3. year purchased
4. model
5. colour
6. condition/use

Should cover that

But back to my point, how do you gain consent or define how the data will be used? As soon as it's posted you lose control.

Whilst writing a response to this last point I have talked myself out of it

A potentiallly really useful resource for members but am inclined to agree with szkom on this - not the thin ice FCCUK wants to tread near unfortunately IMO frown

Hang on....

chinny would it work though without reference to the owners' names? One can look up any registration number after all, but not the details of servicing.....

Re: members cars - 18/07/2018 14:20

GDPR wouldnt apply i dont think. By posting the info you are agreeing to have your data stored in the post. The forum terms and conditions probably include some GDPR compliant terms by now.

Re: members cars - 18/07/2018 19:12

Maybe I should just do it on my own then - advertising it on here and elsewhere e.g. facebook and instagram
I can disclose expected use and protection of peoples data there too
Sick of this current fad about GDPR

What do you think of this?

A google form which saves its data in a secure Google Drive spreadsheet
