Hey all - 01/09/2019 10:11

Morning everyone,

I got very impulsive and purchased a 2.0 16v 1996 in yellow, I have to say I love it considering I was an old ford man.

It just needs a few small bits although it's pretty much failed most mot tests through its life it's only done 84k, it must have sat around broken alot, well everything seems to be working for now and it is only my toy to play with so looking forward to chatting and getting involved. Ste

Welcome.

If it makes the transfer from Ford to Fiat any easier, just remind yourself that the only other places the 16v ECU is used are the Tipo, the Ferrari F40, and.... the Sierra Cosworth. laugh

The mot history recoded by Big Brother is as below.

Some TLC and following some of the guides on here and she will be away. Just be aware coupes tend to sulk when mended!

Re: Hey all - 02/09/2019 19:08

Yea I looked at the mot history when I got it, going off the milage it has done a lot of sitting around and changing of owners. I am the 14th owner so like you say it has been unloved, I got it off an old fellow local who drove it up from bristol.

So far I have changed the timing belt, pretty sure it had already been done but done it anyway, the water pump looks fresh, deleted the balance belt and locked off the front shaft pulley as it was whining not sure if it was the tensioner or the shaft bearing. Stripped all the interior out smacked the jacked up floor down and given it a bloody good clean it has green seats which look strange so may fit leathers. Also put my air filter off my Saab on it as the air box needs replacing and one of the rubber pipes.

I have oil, filter, plugs, rocker and sump gasket ready to do just waiting on exhaust manifold gasket the 3 seals for the crank breather (took me 5 days to find) and rear disk and pads once all that is done I think it will be a belter. All the electricals work which I'm happy about other than the windows being slow.

Re: Hey all - 02/09/2019 19:13

Tyres are cracking slightly so will be getting done for sure I want to keep it going for a while as it is pretty rare apparently there is only 33 2.0 16v left on the road so it's well worth saving and only gave a grand for it. I will sort out uploading pics but not used forums for a long time and do it all on my phone as my pc is just for gaming ha.
