That's me home, 9hrs, two stops for fuel & another stop to stretch my legs & a wee doss, eyes were beginning to get a bit nippy, rubbed my face with a wet wipe & all good again, off to bed now. bye

That's amazing Jim, greatly relieved you made it back in one piece. Think I would have taken the "soft" option and stayed over somewhere - having said that I remember bringing mine back from Upton last year and feeling remarkably fresh afterwards!

One thing in your favour perhaps that traffic would be light but hopefully your refurbed headlights helped pierce the gloom a lot better thumb

Put up a couple of pics when you wake up smile

Now that you will have fully emerged from your epic journey Jim how are you enjoying having your sprinty back?

Re: my Coop - 21/12/2019 11:23

Well Simon, it's like learning to drive again, more so in a car that's a wee bit faster than my daily laugh The drive took a bit out of me, what with my hip aching & when I got out of my car at my house, I felt sick & tired but I was taking my pills & no food, I'm now bang on 13 stone & I'm still not that hungry. All in all I'm smiling like an idiot, the adrenaline kept me going, that's fore sure. driving

Re: my Coop - 21/12/2019 12:35

I must admit to being concerned Jim, especially "post-op". Although it may have been a few months since your own spat, having had a few similar occurrences I found that recovery has taken its time, perhaps up to half a year, even 18 months after my ticker issue.

Not to take away from your stoicism, still awesome you did all that in a one-er

Driving the coop again must be equal to at least one dose of feel-better tablets laugh

Re: my Coop - 21/12/2019 15:33

Believe it or not Simon, if it wasn't for the hip & the pills & I'd been my usual self, honestly it would have been a doodle driving I think that some people see me as a bit vulnerable at times, but behind the humor & blether I'm quite the survivor blabla Due to my childhood I'm a bit selfish & keep something back for myself.

Here's to our next meet up or trip.... laugh driving.....

Re: my Coop - 22/12/2019 10:32

Well, the Coop exhaust fumes have finally settled down up here, & I think it's time for a few thank yous. I have to firstly thank Joe for his excellent work on my sprinty, it's practically a new car straight out of the show room. I have to thank my lovely wife equally as she worked two more years full time to pay for it, she has only recently went on to a three day week, I love her so much for that. A big thanks to Simon for help as well, he gave me a heads up of a trustworthy driver/trailer who took my sprinty down to Joes.Simon gave me much encouragement when I wasn't sure about things & other information. Neil/Barnacle I believe was involved as well with his technical expertise, thanks. This sounds like an acceptance speech.. soapbox

I was almost emotional when I first clapped my eyes on my car at night in Joes garage with the lights shining down on the paintwork, wow I thought. Almost done, I have to thank everyone else who took an interest in my adventure regarding my Coop on here. It was Teresa that told me that the forum is like your family, I believe her. Oh, have to thank Joes son Jacob, he picked me up from Bristol Airport & on to the garage, I blethered quite a lot on the way there funnily enough blabla Nice young man, very intelligent.

Thanks you one & all. Have a lovely Christmas & new year. xmas snowman beer party

It is smile We all look after each other, some more than others and we all try to help each other out, regardless of whatever the problem is smile I've been very thankful over the years, for the friends I have met on here and know I can speak about anything, whether Coupe related or not smile

I'm glad you have your Coupe back Jim and glad you have a lovely, understanding wife too cool

Re: my Coop - 10/06/2020 09:42

My garage is behind a row of houses off the beaten track and I was pottering in my garage, Coop carefully parked out side. Heard some beeping and here is an oil lorry reversing to deliver heating fuel to one of the houses. Bags of room for him to manoeuvre usually, but he seemed to be heading for my Coop shocked shout Stop, whoa, I was convinced he was going to total my car. He jumped out and said he saw my car, he also said he had a long hose. (Now,now) Kind of lost the plot grr but we soon saw the funny side of the mad shouty man.

Turns out a young Polish chap and a car enthusiast. Had a long chat about cars and particularly the Coop. Dead impressed, first Coop he has come across. After he left, I did have a bit of a moment, whew!!! All good now.... cool

We all know the phrase on here of, "Check your oil!"

That should now be updated to, "Check that oil lorry headed for your Coop!"

Re: my Coop - 26/07/2020 10:01

Wife sussed out I was a bit pissed off today, so she suggested, why don’t you go for a Sunday paper. Well little as that sounds, next village, scenic route, more miles, Coop idea laugh That’s a great combination. We have been in lock down and our son who has special needs needs shielding all the time. My wife said, you have to start sometime.

Needless to say it gave me a chance to test my new tyres, hsite to a blanket comes to mind... wink Ah!!!!! All feels well in the world now...... driving
