Coupe mpg - 02/09/2006 19:18
Afternoon all,
Seriously toying with the idea of getting a Coupe.
Wondering if anyone know's what the mpg figures are for the Coupe range.
Many thanks

It varies depending on your speed by quite alot and if the car is standard. The car has a 63 litre tank which is about 14 gallons and most people can report anything from 400 down to 200 which is 28 to 15 mpg. Most people with a mix of driving seem to average at about 280-320

Entirely depends on how heavy your right foot is. I have a 20VT which I use at weekends for (rapid) pleasure mainly and I get about 330 miles from Ģ60 full tank. If economy is your thing then you may be looking at the wrong kind of car. The 16na is a bit more frugal but not much.

Are those all from 20vt's?
Would probably before after a non-turbo.

I use my 20VT as my sole transport so it gets a mixed bag of use, and I've done 2 consumption checks since I got it 5 months ago, both showing 23mpg.

Re: Coupe mpg - 02/09/2006 19:44
I just got 265 miles from 50l of unleaded
All urban driving, barely over 40mph at all...that's 24mpg and it'll be even worse once the schools go back
I so need my punto back soon
And this 63 litre tank...is the 20v n/a smaller? I only managed to get 50 litres in the other day and the orange light was coming on intermittently

You can get a good few miles out of it from when the light flashes

Well i did 175 brutal miles on 20 pounds. That was motorway and a severe diversion after a crash on the motorway. must be the 6 speed.

For what it's worth, the 16v NA is easily capable of 33mpg in mixed motorway/town commuting; up to about 38mpg on 70mph cruise.
I fill up regular at 360 miles, whether it needs it or not, usually gets around 50 litres (11 gallons).

Thanks for all the replies.
As much as I'd like a turbo, NA may be more suitable for me. Do about 40 miles a day, mainly motorway.
Retired from trackdays/santapod so am never in any real rush to warrant a fast car.
Just pricing up a set up deep dish rims for when I find a car

Motorway mileage is much better in my n/a, probably 35 mpg

In that case, you won't be wanting a 20VT - there's no way that ANY deep recessed rims will fit over the brembo calipers

My NA is similar to Vicksters. I usually just about manage 300 miles in mainly town driving, 340 if I mix motorway too. I usually run it till orange light is permanently on and the tank takes about Ģ54

If only they did, we could have hamsters to trot around in there and check whether our wheelnuts were tight.
I get 260 per tank out of my 20Vt. mixed driving

I`m getting around 30/31 mpg with mine, which is slightly better than i got with my old 16vna. I usually fill up at around 200 miles which is just above half a tank. I like to make sure i`ve got plenty of fuel on board in case of any major detours (which can happen in my area
).

Just dont bounce it off the limiter like you used to do with the Sei!!!

I drive to work every day in London. The best i can get is 19 MPG, thats 220 miles on Ģ50 worth of fuel.

Re: Coupe mpg - 04/09/2006 15:50
Drive to work every day in the city uning my 20VT - average 20 - 23 mpg, depending on traffic. On a long trip the average is 35 - 36 mpg.

Re: Coupe mpg - 04/09/2006 17:25
I found tyre pressure makes a lot of difference fuel economy.
I had recently swapped the wheels front to back on the Coupe, and forgot to reset the pressures when doing so. So ended up running front pressure (higher) on the back and rear pressure (lower) on the front for about a week before I notice how high fuel consumption had become.
So it's well worth checking your tyres in case that's the reason your economy is poor.

Re: Coupe mpg - 04/09/2006 18:28
I'm very sad and always work out my mpg (even if to see how low I can get it).
In a year of mostly open road driving over 6k miles, but including 2 track days, my 16vt averaged 29 mpg. If you drive in town or race people, well......not so much. About 11 or less at a track day....

Re: Coupe mpg - 04/09/2006 22:00
Just to confuse things, I get 24mpg on LPG on the daily motorway run (at sensible speeds).
On the other hand, I know that you can expect to be 15% down on LPG anyway, and that things are likely to improve once I replace my slightly dodgy wheel bearings.
