It's rather amusing for a US publication to be complaining about European reliability; have they actually driven any of their cars? I recall rental cars where hoods fell off, where the electric window didn't stop till it fell out of the runners, and where cruise control, engine management, and autobox all lived in their own little bubbles and clearly didn't talk to each other...
Perhaps I'm doing something wrong? I've had over a million kilometers from the last three Fiats I've owned...

Couldn't agree with you more Neil. A sweeping statement about Fiat reliability perceptions in Europe based on what? Fairly typical Didn't know the F 500 has been axed in the USA particularly when the electric version has been launched.
Mrs G has got the Abarth cabrio in her sights when we give the 1.2 to our youngest next year. Who am I to argue against her
