People do have lives, sometimes you have to have a little patience.

Re: nobody barely responds - 17/09/2022 18:28

no, people have no interest, love for the coupe or courtesy anymore.

Re: nobody barely responds - 17/09/2022 18:29

so everyone can use that nasty anti social poisoness toxic social media all day that takes up a huge amount of their screen on time, but when it comes to checking out the forum once in a while they cant manage it? makes sense...

Re: nobody barely responds - 17/09/2022 18:32

not to mention they seem to struggle with a simple yes or no question, as in, does the 20vt coupe hate certain things such as NON BOSCH made parts like idle control valves or airflow meters?

The activity here is not the best compared to Facebook, no contest.

A lot of knowledge to be found here though

Best I can see you've had replies to most of the dozen posts you've made.

The entire scene has moved on in the last couple of years. Many of the cars aren't the daily drivers they once were. And of the few cars left the owners generally are preserving the value of their cars best they can. This often involves bills into thousands. And when you're spending that money you're not going to be changing oils and servicing yourself. So sadly there isn't going to be somebody on here waiting to answer questions as owners capable of doing that are far less these days

Mooney, considering the courtesy and welcome you were given upon your entry to the forum your observations are rather less than that. I also wrote to you personally to aid the passage and locations of your questions which you had duplicated in different sections.

You are right, this is not FaceBook and doesn't pretend to be - however the enthusiasm for Fiat Coupés is no less than your own. It's just that there are not necessarily people on here all the time, especially being a relatively modestly-sized Club.

Re: nobody barely responds - 17/09/2022 20:46

The Forum is not a social media platform it is run by volunteers and forum members who are not logged in 24/7 so it may take a while before a response is received. Also depending on the query being raised it could be that the use of the search / how to options will provide you an Answer if you make the effort to review it initially.
You will find knowledgeable owners here that can assist but it’s not instant like Google I’m afraid. Hope you get the help needed.

You probably took about 2 minutes of your time to register and sign up on here and the amount of knowledge on here is vast, so stop being so ungrateful to those that have spent their vast amount of time and knowledge over the years to make this the forum it is.

It's 'as dead as a dodo' as many people don't need to post questions due to the using the search engine and and finding answers to questions that have already been asked.

If your 2 minute sign up time is so important, then I suggest you value the 2 minutes or more it takes people to take time out of their life to respond to you and/or your questions.

Jeez!

A very perceptive statement Szkom and sums up my situation exactly though I rarely contributed on the technical front. There's approx 660 coupes now left on the road and about a third are paid up forum members. This is a niche club by any standard so it's unsurprising it's not a hive of activity that some may expect.

Re: nobody barely responds - 29/09/2022 07:09

It may be quiet compared with some forums but it's the quality of the replies that counts. I'm new to both coupe ownership and this forum, so far been very happy with the responses and advice received. As has been already mentioned we must remember there are a lot fewer cars, and therefore owners, than there was at one time.

Re: nobody barely responds - 29/09/2022 09:26

This forum is not Strictly come dancing and love island, it's more like time team (for people who like Beards and soil :-) )
If you are after high octane tuning stories and thrills you may be disappointed. We all did that 20 years ago and now the discerning coupe owner is looking more at originality and longevity (mostly, many are still in a high state of tune)

But as others have said the info is in here somewhere or someone will answer eventually.
You won't get this amount of info anywhere else.

My own is due a full chassis upward full rebuild and restore and I know if this forum was not here I would not be able to do it myself.

Have a nice day.

Hopefully the adventures I intend to take mine on when it's 'complete' will tick the high octane stories box!

Indeed, but I did say mostly.
like many lurkers, I always enjoy the stories and adventures such as yours.

Re: nobody barely responds - 03/10/2022 10:28

? I go away for a few days....and apparently missed it all...!

Forum members have always responded to my inane questions and occasional pleading for help and advice....like others here I'm not the most technically skilled or knowledgeable. So have always been grateful for others shared knowledge and experience! And try and help out other members when I think I know something of use.

Like Mr Tickle...I like to hear others adventures as well. And try to have at least one dedicated driving trip in mine each year to keep the smiles per mile high.

Regards all.
