Re: colour - 04/10/2006 20:28

as it was never sold here so the only ones over here are imports but to UK spec. usually brought over by army types out in germany adn the like. its a very nice color though on the plus editions

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 20:54

It was sold here, but it was a £1500 option that not many people were willing to pay for.

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 21:06

My appologies scooby

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 21:09

£1500 wow
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 21:14

They did a plain white on the 16v/16vt in Yerp (which looks pretty awful IMHO) but I believe it was even dropped in Yerp when they bought out the 20v versions.

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 21:15

Yeah but then again if you had £20,000 or whatever they cost new then whats another £1500 for a rare and stunning colour?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 21:21

£25k new
Rare? Yes.
Stunning? Matter of opinion.

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 21:22

i think it was more down to lack of availability, hence the lack of white or yellow plus models!

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 21:26

When I bought my first 20VT new in 1999, this was an option for the 2000 model year.

This was on the brochure at the dealer I seem to recall.

Wasn't really in fashion back then as most were either red, sprint and portofino blues.

I ended up buying a Speed red version with tan leather sunroof and aircon from a Belgium Fiat dealer.

When I picked my car up I recall seeing the rare "primer" coloured LE parked a few cars up!

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 23:09

I think there's one in the UK, sold by a dealer last year IIRC...I don't like any sort of white cars, so not for me - a colour best kept for Transit vans IMO
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: colour - 04/10/2006 23:22

Integra Type R, Celica GT4, Civic Type R (Older shape Import). To name but a few cars that look awesome in White

Yellow is for weirdos!

You should see the new Golf GTI with retro pack. White bodywork with chequered cloth interior, very late 70's.

It does really suit the car

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 01:16

Saw the "Irredescent White Pearl" coupe the other week in Queensferry.
Have to admit it was very stunning.
I would have had to pay the £1500 for the option.

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 01:26

i wish mate but this thing was flying and the stopping power was unreal , you do know this is the 3.0 v6 twin turbo rally car
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 01:27

That's a little unfair to the little 6R4, it was a fantastic piece of kit, 8 seconds to 100mph isn't to be sniffed at. If you're interested, there's some info here

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 01:42

i would rather cut off mu peni5 with a rusty breadknife than like or look at that!

vile! you should know better scooby.

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 01:56

Its a Rally car, not pretty, but functional.

Don't pick on metros either - they make great platforms for track weapons when coupled with a 1.8vvc engine from an MG/elise, and this is a straight engine swap as well.

No comparison for modern cars in any way, but fantastic track weapons. I speak from 1st hand experience of building one...

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 02:00

yeh yeh still crap!

the escort cos was a rally car, now thats stunning!

Anything rover etc is bollox im afriad.

All white, inside and out
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 03:26

the metro kinda think i know the MG type one your on about maybe...
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 03:29

No, it wasn't the MG.

This was a special one-off for the seriously wealthy cityslicker - sideskirts and all
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 03:39

I remember them, very angular Kamei style bodykit type jobbies.

Re: colour - 05/10/2006 15:26

were always on abt how quick the coops are,but this metro was bonkers.and very very very rare at that.ugly, yes, metro, yes but as said a mental peice of machinery
Posted By: Sedicivalvole

Re: colour - 06/10/2006 06:37

Ok this goes against what should be in the world but oh well

YES that metro was mental and is .... hold on trying to prepare myself for what needs to be said...

IS in its own right an excellent machine and deserves to be remembered for what it could do.

Lets not forget the metro can scalp a Lancia Integrales

Re: colour - 06/10/2006 17:08

I'd be one of them! I even saw this earlier this year up for sale. Pity the photos aren't still on ebay as it looked mint.

Now that is a Capri I'd have and probably the only white car I'd ever consider (short of the Aston Martin Bulldog coming up for sale, or maybe an Espirit, oh and I would have pearl white coop damn do I actually like white?).

Re: colour - 08/10/2006 14:25

Yesterday I saw adder58's electric blue plus and Joel's new (Winner red?) plus...

I think the cars look stunning in all colours.

I now have no preference!
