Excuse my ignorance, but why are these so good/ sought after? Are they rare or is it just an aesthetic thing etc...
I think I know what Carl thinks of these!

They just look better and hold you better than the other seats.
They only were fitted in the Plus and LE, LE had Red & Black and the Plus had Black leather with Red Stiching. So yeah they are rare!

I've only ever seen 2 cars with airbag Recaro's. Markus and JimO's old 'Y' reg.
Someone was telling me that it was Fiat just emptying their parts bins and not bothering about keeping the cars to 'UK spec' at the end of the coupe run.

I have sat in a pair of Airbag Recaros and normal Recaros in a LE and felt no difference! But you know more than me so I shall believe you
Konig Seats are nice. I remember sitting in some black and silver leather ones in a R5 GTT, very hard but sexual. Cant find them anywhere though!

Hmmm maybe not then. This was an Ink Black plus I looked at. I SWEAR it had airbags on the side. Like little black plastic covers over them

I've got airbag 'recaros' in mine but my car came from Germany (RHD spec ordered by Army Officer out there) and hence has a few little differences which assume are Euro-spec. The seat release mechanism is more aesthetically pleasing on the airbag ones as it follows the contours of the seat whereas the standard one has a lever sticking out.

must be, mine is late september so must be one of the last off the production line.

The last 2000 ish cars built from March 2000 on had side airbag seats (production officially finished in September 2000)

If we follow this argument again then I believe the outcome is that none of the seats in the LEs, Pluses or some [6]s are officially Recaro.
