Its had a vegatable oil conversion and is now officailly the worlds fastest and best handling chip pan!

But seriously KP, this is excellent news - now there's some space in Paul's garage again, the rest of us can get on with booking our coupes in for some TLC

Bet it takes a couple of days for the smile to fade from your face when you drive it for th efirst time

"Congratulations on the rebirth of your coupe"

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 00:15

Ha ha very true

She is going to slowly be run in this time and no where near the pushing she got last time as 1.5k after the rebuild when changed to fully synth she pushed 165 on the gps on a private road so i guess that may not have helped...

She prob needs a rear wheel bearing but when fully run in she will eb going for fuelling check on LPG and then that live mapping in blackpool i hope

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 00:41

Congratulations KP - Im sure Im not alone when I say its been emotional for all of us..!

Good to hear you've got it back though; will be strange whenever I go there now, there's gonna be a large gap there !

Perhaps you could get Paul to do a crime scene-style white outline on the garage as a reminder to us all....

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 00:50

Hmm i think i may ask him that, Kp's special spot lol! ive prob had more time there than nigel, but then again nigel is nigel

I hope i still have this alleged ribbon or bow from Barnacle still as well as i have some pictures from when another memebr went down, think either AndyM, Stingray or GreameC took some photos showing how much eas left in the engine bay Was saddenning but i felt happy after a day or two as i know how good paul is and that his work is worth the time and money he charges, worth every penny and the sweeties im going to give them as well

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 04:43

Is that aimed at me Nigel, or KP's strange post?

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 05:18

It's gotta be KP's strange post. That guy speaks in riddles quite a lot lately!

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 05:30

Its true, im abit tipsy tonight and speaking in guiness language

I was jibing at nigels weekly visits to motormech for repairs but i think nigels car is lasting better than mine at the minute so im going to take the more cautious route to running her in now

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 05:39

Excellent news Will, bet you can't wait to get back behind the wheel.

I must admit, I'm really pleased, (and quite amazed!), that you've managed to stick with the coupe despite all the problems you've had.

Re: Another SUPER DUPER MotorMech post - 03/11/2006 05:50

At the moment i am thinking of running her for a few months and seeing how she goes.

If she doesnt live upto then im moving on im afraid and it will be to veggie power with a V or W plate Xantia 1.9td with all the trimmings and enjoy 50mpg and 50p/litre prices as im covering a fair few miles now and the coupes 25mpg on gas is gunna hit home by january i reckon even though i dont go above 100leptons on the average trip i reckon the only way to bring it down would be cruise control

It would be hard to leave the coupe community but ive promised myself im doing the next tunnell run if im not working to silly o'clock and the engine is fine for it fuelling wise, and see if she can take it as i think the gearbox and a rear wheel bearing are next on the list as im not easy on them really 1st-3rd get the worst abuse and i think a 6 speed really would suit me better but ill see how she goes.

Just cant wait to sit down in the drivers seat again, i think ill be spending 5minutes setting up the radio and just stroking the dash and steering wheel before i even crank her. and when i crank her ive promised myself, make sure in nuetral, foot on clutch and brake and close my eyes while i let her blip into life and savour her new life again as the noise first thing is just amazing with the exhaust note on idle as anyone with a blueflame with only 1 silencing box in the exhaust system will tell you, it does allow you to pick up the 5cylinder burble and im even goose bumping at the minute thinking of it

Praise the ICERBERG!

No worries fella ill post away

PS dont forget you need to apply some form of coat over them as the stickers wont take a lot of heat otherwise without warpage as the lacquer seals them in

yeah there is a big hole in the side where the chain could go through lmao, the rings (what was left of them) looked like they started to melt into the actual piston G.
