I have decided to get a coupe in the next few weeks..One that hasnt been in a accident..
I am stuck on colours and models though and need some advice.
Now the following may upset some people as it involves colours..
I like the L.E red
H2ypers yellow coupe
Jimbos grey coupe
and i love the sprint blue
I quite fancy a six speed but IMO think there slower through the gears.
I would also love an L.E but that rules out the sprint blue.
I want a low miles one poss 40k and will only use it in the summer as i plan to keep it for a while with the rest of my future classics selection.

Yellow aint available in plus/le. I would go for 5 speed as general opinion is its a stronger gearbox.

My sisters BF is looking to sell his LE. It's steel grey, 98'S' and has about 42k on the clock.
He's based around guildford and is really a minter. The only bad point was that the rear bumper has melted slightly due to a hole in a previous exhaust.
It drives really nicely and has had new belts, discs and pads about a year ago and the car has only done 5k since then.

Jimbos is very nice,but i love the red in the L.E.
But jimbos interior looks better as it contrasts the exterior..
And i get too attatched to cars and never want to sell them so i would like to be sure of the colour.

To be honest,the coupes look good in nearly all the colours.The only one that i dont like which does nothing for me is the porto blue(sorry KP)

Yellow is good, Portofino though it the best colour!
Forget the mileage, just go for unmodified and genuine and well looked after.

Porto blue is ace, just mine is always covered i about 1k worth of dirt

Ah, no never had the skirts, not from factory anyway, only Plus and LE's have the different shell's to accomodate genuine skirts.
The 6's arent that rare, nearly all 2000 models that arent plus's are 20vt6's

Well i have to say ive owned my ink black plus since last july and still adore its looks inside and out. Ive never seen another on the road either (mind you i live in deepest darkest zumzet!! God i need to get out more!!). It quite often looks real black from a distance which looks well nice. Having said this, i have thought that i might trade for a grey limited edition one day. I prefer the plus inside though.

Yeh either are nice, i went off vinci when i painted a load of recovery trucks in it, got tedious.
I rekon if i found a genuine straight red LE somewhere i'd buy it, but never ever seen one im happy with. All had something too nasty for me!
But then i find all Red cars especially red punto's and coupe's are jinxed.

Oh shyte....Carl,thats a good point,i have owned 2 cars in red and both have been jinxed.
1 got broken into,scratched,hit in a car park,someone run into the side of me,and then it got stolen..
The other the first day i had it a gritting truck showered it in chips,it got bumped in a car park and then someone ran into me and wrote it off.......
I best pm jimbo to see if he is selling his then
But red looks so good...

at least 3 different shells.
Floor pan way way different for airbag seat models (inc those with airbag non recaro's) Shell is very different, even spotted in odd places. Very unusual.
Plus non airbag shells are different again, more gusset around the struts and lower posts.
LE shells have different sills and outer floor joints. Some Plus shells are late LE shells, you can tell by the skirts.
16v & 16vt and early 20v n/a use different to 20vt and vis 20v, a-posts joints, and floor alterations. Rear spare wheel well and back panel different.

Yep only car to break down with me driving was a red punto
Every red coupe that arrives is fccccukered.
Never had a good red punto turn up and in 5 years of selling cars (probably 400+ now) ive had 4 complaints, all on red cars.
All the red punto's i had were sheds.
Only car i could never fix and gave up on was a red cinquecento.
Sold one red xr2 which turned out to have a well bent history, complaint bypassed me luckily.
never had a red coupe arrive ive been able to fix and have been disappointed.
Really want a Red Le, one i saw had a filthy quarter job, one had a new n/s leg, other still had creases in the floor, red plus i wanted well bad had a twisted shell.
Get the idea????

get a yellow one by far the best colour, I know I shouldn't say this but but I do seem to get more room, let out of turnings more and people seem to take more care in carparks with my yellow beast. Guess I'll get it dinged now

The reds do look good but red cars get driven to hard, must be because they are faster

so your saying the ones that are in malaysia now are the strongest shells?
Surely this would be of interest to people who track their cars to have a stronger shell to start off with instead of wibbly wobbly ones like mine

yellow cars. You'll get more compliments, more people will let you out of junctions, and girls will love it. If you want it to look like an LE or plus, buy the bits and put them on after. Or buy a kit. After all, you aren't against a little remodelling eh?

I agree in a yellow mobile people let you out and pay more attention. I would like to get a yellow plus but being as Carl has nearly the only one Why did more people not buy a yellow plus????

Red has been good to me two red Tipo's one with over 200k on it one Tipo Sedici which I had good and bad luck with really
Vinci Grey suits the LE so so well and is only available for the LE

Thats cause it feels more like a Ferrari look it up red Ferrari's and Yellow Lambo's get "thrashed and crashed" more according to some insurance thingy.

This must have been a rhetorical question surely? Pretty well all colours look good on the coupé, but there is only one colour which looks great (hint: look at my avatar
).
I must admit I like yellow, but when they're dirty they're filthy
Sprint, Silver and Red probably do the best job of hiding the dirt IMO. A definate consideration if you use the car without washing it every day.
Though I like the exclusivity of Sprint Blue, is the colour used on Puntos, or is it just similar?

It is close if not almost identical
Erm Vinci Grey hides dirt the best I would think?
