Personal number plates

Personal number plates - 06/04/2009 11:42

Just wondering how many people have personal plates, and what sort of thing they have on them? Especially if they're Coupe related, as I see a lot of FCCUKers with private plates.

I'm clearly not expecting people to list their reg numbers for obvious reasons (unless they particularly want to crazy ), but just wondered who has a personal plate, and why they picked it.

Mine has the reg letter and a distinctive number followed by my initials - nothing spectacular, but exactly what I wanted smile

Re: Personal number plates - 06/04/2009 11:45

I think the less numbers and letter you have the more it cost. They can be silly money, nice to have one tho. I have my mind on pther things tho to be fair.

My moms cost a bit and it is GJT 170, changed it a bit for obivus reasons.

My friend, gaz has one saying GAZ 1234 same as above. Don't know how much that one was tho.

Re: Personal number plates - 06/04/2009 11:45

I'd like somehting like that. Never really fancied a personal reg plate but the coop is getting a bit old now and a private reg disguises the age a bit. Only the other day my mate commented "I didn't know your coop was so old" crazy

Re: Personal number plates - 06/04/2009 11:47

i had one that came with the car but to be fair it now looks like a n reg not a r reg lol
i will space the letters out more to make it look like a private plate but unless its something cool i can't really see the point.

What colour are the wheels? Might be a bit too far down for it to be Theresa though confused .

My reg has my initials for the last 3 characters. I couldn`t think what to start it off with so I decided to go with Kim`s initial followed by a 20 smile .

Re: Personal number plates - 06/04/2009 22:43

I really would like to sort a private number plate in the future. I've looked into it before but found that all the plates with STU in them are mega expensive.

I'll be finishing my PhD soon so think I'll get a plate with PHD in there instead. I think that will look pretty cool and I can get one for under £500.

How much has everyone spent on their plates?

Definately not me, don't even know where Hereford is laugh

My plate is G6UPE. I chose it because it was about 3K cheaper than C6UPE laugh

My plate on my Fiesta was A12 TVC, which is my house number and initials, but didn't think until I got rid of the plate, that TVC also stands for Twenty Valve Coupe and had already bought G6UPE rolleyes

Re: Personal number plates - 07/04/2009 09:27

My 16VT came with N77 ATS, didn't really notice it was a private plate until I got the V5 through and saw it was actually a '96 car. No significance to me unfortunately.

Re: Personal number plates - 07/04/2009 09:39

I was behind a white van this morning and its plate was my postcode with the addition of a P on the end. Which is fine as my surname begins with P.

Re: Personal number plates - 07/04/2009 10:20

We had a private plate on our family car for a while until a new one was purchased; thereafter i decided to transfer it on my moonie, so that no ones know her age.. it still pulls looks as some people think its a new car..

Anyway, mine has 6 digits, 3 letters and 3 numbers..and cost quite a bit..so investment now

A bit of history that it has come from Irish undercover cop car..so i am told by a few people.. cool

p.s. it not coop related..but i added a line underneath stating model and type of car

I've had C4LM X (or C4L MX) for years not even on a car. It came off my old California MX-5. I don't think I'll get much for it but I really should make time to start advertising it.

I've had my A7AFR for about 13 years now and it's been on all my cars bar the vectra I have now as it will be going on the new coupe.
I like the shorter number plate you are allowed with only having one number on the front of the coupe.

Re: Personal number plates - 28/05/2009 19:26

Howza about F14T CP ? probably quite cheap. My coupe came with a private reg, the previous owner could not be bothered with the hassle of transfer, not really my cup of tea - but its there.

Ideally I would have liked an english/welsh 3letter/3number combo. Not that keen on the NI set as they nearly always have Z's in the reg.

At this stage I would rather get the mechanicals right first.
