You have to consider that whoever does the transporting has to do the journey twice, no matter where he starts from.

I've had a wild stab at what I think might be the middle of West Sussex (Billinghurst?) and I reckon the entire round trip is between 850 and 900 miles and will probably take 15 - 18 hours, so £320 is an absolute bargain.

Yeh i was thinking that Nigel, either way its a long old journey for someone. Shame its not closer otherwise i'd snap the car up today. Its MrMac's one in the for sale section. Oh and yeh Billingshurst is very close to me.

Have to admit, £320 is a bargain. I was quoted £400 from Inverness to Aberdeen shocked In the end I landed doing it myself.....Best of luck smile

Elliot - I bought an MOT-fail 20v N/A - it was in Preston - about 100 miles from me - I borrowed a trailer and Wifey's Range Rover and collected it myself. Drove it to Motormech in Birmingham, then dropped the trailer and went home.

Total journey of around 250 miles and it took well over a tankful of fuel (100-litre tank, so probably around £120 in fuel)

It also took most of a day, following a really early start

And that was just Preston to Birmingham - makes £320 for Glasgow to Sussex look like a real bargain

Elliot, if you land up doing it yourself make sure you have the proper licence, after a certain date you are not allowed a heavy tow weight. I only say this not as an over do gooder, but its quite a long trip as you point out & I certainly would get insurance for such a long trip. Just think of all the knobs on the road. When I trailered my coop to Aberdeen, it was an eye opener to say the least.. shocked again best of luck.....Jim.

Agreed - I was using a 2.7 tonne V8 Range Rover and even then it got difficult to control the trailer with the car on it - I wouldn't like to do it in a car of much less than two tonnes
