Saw a very clean red late 90s model going towards Sheffield today on the M1 near J34 - I was going back to Anglesey in the opposite lane in my mate's Honda Civic.

a blue 20vt coming over the wash past asda in rotherham yesterday at about 17:15, I was the one putting some rubber down going the same way (on foot)

followed by an R reg Silver 20vt coming down Barbers avenue towards fitness first parkgate at 17:30 which was then followed 30 seconds later by a yellow 20vt in the same location.

then my own red one on the drive obviously...

All in all a good days spotting, might even by myself a spotting jotter

saw a red one coming through thurcroft last week whilst walking the dogs not sure which model though,any one able to recommend good coop mechanics around here,dont want to tempt fate but always nice to know.

Nah - either drive to Motormech in Birmingham or Powerfiat in Basildon. You'll get the petrol back in peace of mind and quality service. These guys really know what they're doing.

I have seen the one with white wheels going through whiston a few times but mine is a 20v n/a with Turbo alloys, I live in Parkgate and have seen quite a few knocking around.

I was working Saturday, Sunday, bank hol Monday and Tuesday, but I do only work 150 days a year so you win some you lose some,

I usually see at least 1 coupe a week either in Rotherham or in Sheff but your the first on here, a lad who lived round the corner from me bought a shi**er of a turbo to do up, saw it for about a week before it was replaced with something working lol, think there's a few coupe owners around Parkgate as well including me as seen a few there.

Saw a murple 20vt heading into Sheff at the matalan on the Parkway as I was heading out this morning about 07:15.

Gave a flash of the lights but was a last minute spot so don't know if they spotted me.

Yep good old waitrose car park, my mate sugest I park my scruffy red 20v n/a next to them for comparison, believe me my falling to bits coupe isn't close to that lovely sprinty

I did spot you in the coupe the other week as I was heading up Eccy road for a butty, also mine's the top floor corner office at the T junction of Napier street (EDS) so I see you from time to time, beep and I'll wave out the office window next time

Yesterday Sat 29th saw a Nana heading up the dual carriageway after the Zone (or whatever the hell its called) Roundabout at either 3 or 4pm, just finished working some overtime and didn't look at the time, had 16v - vt or 20v n/a wheels, gave a wave as I was coming in the opposite direction but think the large central reservation stopped a propper spot.

Today, Abbeydale Rd South near Millhouses Park, Sprint Blue 20VT.

When I see a Coop, I always think what a fabulous looking car they are.....then remember I'm sat in one, too.

P reg Portofino at the Northern General Hospital last night. Parked in the car park of the Osborn building,where I work. Had to do a double take as it looked like mine apart from a sunroof.

Also got a wave from an Electric Blue Coop Owner last Saturday on Abbeydale Rd...managed to wave back. A good feeling of mutual respect gives you a buzz, however.....

Back down to earth on Sunday when totally blanked by Red 16v n/a owner on Abbey Lane....think its the guy who owns the hair salon on Abbeydale Rd....oh well.

Nice car, as always made mine look bad, but give it a few weeks... :-) what sort of exhaust was that, mate, sounded nice but not OTT.

Spotted you Bob coming round island, slowed down to have chat en route to work at Ches Vegas.Have spent £1000s on it but peco stainless & dump valve were already fitted.It sounds awesome when floored,hence username(scares me)but normal cruising its brilliant no excess noise or booming.Also dont knock your car,mine has only done 59,000 & has no expense spent on it.So give it time & money & you will be rewarded.
Also had a chat with Puegot owner at BP garage meadowhead on way home at 1pm.He said thats best looking coop ive seen for a while(are you on this site ex coop owner?)

Good to meet you, mate, did sound nice pulling away. I've got the K+N panel and Milltek 2.75" cat-back and stainless decat, and under full boot, it sounds :-). I've got a lot of receipts etc., it's all good and I am in the process of spending a whole pile on it, but I just never have proper time to valet it, when the bad weathers here, it's OK but in the summer I always get put to shame. And it has just ticked over 140,000, so it's doing OK ;-)

Yep, it mas my mates Merc, it became one wheel drive and we suspect the off side half shaft broke half way round the corner and spun us. He also has an 80s Porsche 911 so he can handle twitchy rear wheel drive cars, definitely not driver error as we were only doing about 30-40 mph. Its a write off, even though it didn't look too bad.

Still every cloud has a silver lining.... I wouldn't have seen your coop otherwise eh?

A yellow one at about half 5 yesterday near the lights on Clarke house road heading towards Sheffield center and a wine red one in a car park just off the round about at Bramall lane.

I was too far away to see the model or the reg of either.

I am working on City Road at the moment and passed a Black Coop R*** DES parked up about 100 yards down from the cemetery this morning at about 10 o'clock.

I really must start paying more attention to what models I see! Or less attention to the road!

Millhouses. Cheers. I was gonna call Steve today, but I am tempted by the bike brake cable option...saves a bit of cash etc Which Garage do you use? We don't have any "specialists" in Sheffield...although there are a couple of Alfa/Fiat garages in North Derbys.

I went with the bike cable option when I had the X19, it was a tricky so and so to fit as I broke the weld at the frayed end and cut my fingers to ribbons. Once fitted though it was fine, arguably a more durable solution too.
My old man got me my last bike cable from somewhere near Darnal I think, I will ask him tomorrow.

I am always passing your neck of the woods so keep an eye out for me when I get mine back in the next week or so!

I do a lot of work myself but if I get stuck - Cambelts, clutch etc - and a fair bit more this time, I use JonnyBravoTurbo, great bloke, knows the cars inside out and competitively priced, if not all that local. I have also used Classic Automotive at Dronfield for the Cinq and X19 and wouldn't have a problem sending the Coop there, he looks after a few Porsche's, Morgan's and Ferrari's so he shouldn't have too much trouble with a Coop, although he isn't a "specialist" but a very good motor engineer.

Peak Alfa are about the closest specialist I think, out at Hope, but I haven't used them yet. Do you know of any other local ones?

Thats useful to know about the guy in Dronfield. I heard Peak Alfa were a bit pricey?...they had a 145 for sale for ages at £2995!! A bit steep.

Hi I think I might have been spotted in the Sheffield area. Had a Red LE (S8...)for years and years down south - Wimbledon, and someone left a card on the car then. Just joined the club this week though! Been in Sheffield about 3 years.

As it happens I need a new oil cooler pipe (at least if not cooler too), bonnet cable and maybe cam belt kit and wondered where you guys source parts from round here.

Saw one of you on the Chesterfield Road once.

The nearest parts specialist around here is Alternative Autos, off junction 38 up the M1. Genuine and aftermarket parts and a former coop owner himself. Very knowledgeable too.

Regarding bonnet cable.It usually breaks where it loops around mounting to the right side of bonnet lock.All it needs is a length of bowden cable & join it up with a solderless nipple,try not to get involved with fitting a full cable.Get complete cam belt kit from Alternative & if any anyone wants a cambelt & rollers job doing in Sheff/Roth/Chessie area, i know & very experienced Fiat technician at a good price(pm me)but you must make sure the undertray is off.Doubt if you would get oil cooler pipe from Alternative,try Country Cruising on this site for S/H.

That would be in in the Broomy on my way to sunny chorley. Just joined the forum and should be a fully paid up member of the club by the end of the weekend. My 95 ' 2litre 16v should be back on the road soon, been sat on the drive for the last 10 months, two new front tyres, oil and filter change, and mot and shiela will be a regular sight on the roads around Dronfield and Chesterfield.

First spot in SY for nearly a year! T plate (I think) Sprint Blue heading down City Road around 5pm, I waved from a Grey Panda 100hp near the KFC.
