At last

I saw the same Grey 20VT that I see most weeks around Verwood yesterday. The lady who drives it never waves.

To my shock as the coupe came towards me, flash of the lights and a big wave.

She must have had a good day!

Lovely looking red LE on Whiteladies Rd, Bristol at about 1345 today - fogot to wave as I was busy looking at the car as I drove past!!

saw a metallic dark red coop on long ashton bye past in bristol today about 12pm,didnt catch reg as was on back of my boyfriends r1 but did see it was a guy driving. looked just like mine.

Broom Yellow 20VT driving up Totnes high street yesterday morning. Lady driver,immaculate car T plate with s/roof and twin pipe exhaust.No mods/bodykit just as it should be.(Stands back for hail of abuse :-) Looked absolutely sensational...what presence. I was on foot but was desperate to shout out "Look at that...I've got one of them!"

Saw coupe yesturday in village called Bow around 6.20 parked just down from the shop.

The black LE was me. Drove from Banbury to Cheltenham great bit of road and my left foot braking is getting better as well.

Speed Red 16v NA taking it easy on A30 at Liskeard this morning, would have waved, but was in the works van at the time.

Not sure if im posting this in the right area as im a NUMPTY but this mornign i got slightly lost and ended up driving through HAMPTON and saw a SPRINT BLUE COOP reg: R314 BBW @ 8:40 AM made me smile AGAIN was in the panda!
Im SURE i have seen this car at a meet somewhere possibly the walton/brooklands meet we had a short while ago where we cruised to a pub please can someone let me know if i am going mad!

Heading down into the darkest recesses - Falmouth. Moon grey/silver(?), 20VT, non-standard wheels, R reg, matching sills. You must have seen my coop - I was parked just up the road from yours for a few days within the secured residents section.

Drove from home (Tiverton for another month)to Totnes (new home soon)in my wife's GTV 3.0 today and spotted 4 coupes. A sprint blue 20VT parked up near Exeter St. David's railway station, a murple one at a tyre depot in Exeter (always parked there, owner works there),a broom Yellow 16VT at the Steampacket pub in Totnes and then a rosso red 16v coming out of Exeter as I was driving in. Must be a record.

Saw a red coupe chasing a vw corrado up the A38 Cornwall from Treulfoot towards Landrake at about 1700hrs this evening......

ooh I'm in bournemouth and I have a Ink black/blue 20vt. I've flashed at a couple and get some fairly blank looks. I nice policeman spotted me in Britford on the 338 just outside Salisbury doing 42 in a 30. Nice man took a picture and sent it too me with some points. I wrote back and asked how many i needed for a glass tumbler but they didn't laugh. I wish I'd seen him i could have smiled and said cheese.

I see a pork'ncheeso blue coupe with lady driver often around downton on my epic commute to work. I spotted a few more round poole recently too. I'm most likely to be seen in Tesco tower Park, Asda Bournemouth or in one of many petrol stations on the A338 between Poole (Via Penn Hill)and Collingbourne Ducis 1/2 hour north of Salisbury where I work. Theres a proper red one in Collingboure (anyone on here?) and an unloved silver blue one in a pub car park in Collingbourne Kingston. They are the two I see most, both 20VT's. There are also a 2 x red 16v's (I think) in the Tidworth area. One I see in the petrol station and the other in the Lesuire centre carpark when I swim at lunch times. I did chat with the guy in the garage once but he never flashes or waves anymore. I obviously made an impression Perhaps he's the grandad of someone on here :)

For the record, if you do see my car, I didn't knacker the wheels, the clown who owned it before me did. Also if you do flash, try and make sure it's me and not my girlfriend driving. If it's her she'll think you are harrasing her and will most probably swear at you and/or crash into you. Bless, she really doesn't understand. lol see some of you around?

I think i've seen u around a couple of times, i post in the South Central section tho after not being sure where Bournemouth would go.

I live in the Wallisdown Bounemouth area and can frequently been seen on the dual carriageways area oud that area (past tower park and further along). The one by tower park is awesome, dead straight and often empty.

not me chief. my car was in the process of being bolted back together after a manifold out. (If you check out my date of birth I'm a bit old for cruising well almost ) One of my side badges just fell off too so the car could look better. I think my car is ink black. I've seen a graphite black but mine is more Really really really dark blue. I looked at a Dark blue before i bought this but although it was nearly navy blue, it still wasn't as dark as mine.

I'll certainly look out for you, which is probably a good idea if you are in the habit of jumping out in front of people :):):D

OK pretty sure it was u THIS time. Wallisdown main road, u were leaving bournemouth, i was heading into bournemouth. Your is a very unique shade of blue, which i'd put money on not being the original colour (but it looks great!).

As far as I know the Guy is not a member, have flashed him several times, he now acknowledges, Several other Coupes in Yeovil including my own Sprint Blue 20V Turbo, Twistywizards(Broom Yellow) one of my mates, a Red 16V bit tatty, always parked in Wickes, another Red 16V, guy does respond, Scotts green 20V, has a for sale notice on it and on occassion another sprint Blue 20v Turbo that flashes. Both Twisty & myself are on the Lynx Trading Estate, just oppisite Lynx MOT Centre, feel free to pop in to chat etc

The Silver Coup is up for sale - its done 127k but no mention of a 2nd cambelt change though. Still see a Speed Blue 20VTurbo most mornings on the A37 but heading out of town.

Can you recommend any Coupe friendly garages in the area? I need a new thermostat, the coil packs replaced and 4 new tyres. If not i may just have a day off and taking it to Alfanet in Bristol.

im 95% sure i went to view that silver coop a few weeks back. Nice condition, but desperately needs a new clutch. also needs cambelt fairly soon. and the aircon wasnt working when i looked at it.

I've seen a dark green X reg coupe on the road between Crediton and Copplestone (A3072) a couple of times. I always seem to be in the caravelle when I see it though.

So, who were the two Coupes on display at Castle Combe's Rallyday today? There was a standard looking Steel Grey and a rather nice Sprinter with a Zender body kit and tan leather interior . No owners around when I had a look, and then the rain came in, so I didn't get a chance to go back !

Spotted Skins blue Coop blasting the other direction from me on the Frome bypass today at about 17.20. You were just entering the dual carriageway section whilst I was at the roundabout. As my van doesn't have aircon, I had the windows down and got a full blast of Coupe noise.

Hi Marty, as far as I am aware there are no coupe friendly garages around here, so I have been doing all the work myself, but I am always on the lookout for one as I dont always have the time to do it myself, if I find one I will let you know

There's a garage in Tunley near Bath. They replaced my sump and did a good job - even washed the car, which was nice.

saw a P reg red coupe in portbury today, had a guy driving but soon as we hit the motorway he was off i was going to stick with him but i had to turn off..

Very nice ink black 20V turbo followed me up the road from Trowbridge town centre towards West Ashton traffic lights, we both turned right towards the Longs Arms roundabout where he turned left for Westbury, and I turned right for Trowbridge. We exchanged waves, if we had had more time I would have stopped and had a chat.

Went to Falmouth last weekend - going home to North Wales on the Sunday, saw two coupes - including an R-plated one being driven between Truro & Falmouth, and a red N plater on the A39 going from the A30 to Truro. Waved, but no response. I was in the red 20V T with the private plate.

I had a lovely blue coupe follow me this morning, couldn't tell quite which model as I was enjoyng the front view with one eye in the mirror and the other on the road in front.

Been a good day for coup spotting today, saw a red 20v turbo parked up in the top fuel station in Bromyard, and a few minuets later another red turbo went up Bromyard high street.
They weren't the same one as the fuel station was locked up for the night and it was still in the same place on the home.

friday 29th plymouth at night. dark green coop with a light blue boost pod mounted on front pillar, could see it loverly in the dark! it(you) gave me a hazard flash before turning off and i gave a thumbs up as i drove past in my moonie.

Saw a nice sprint blue Coupe on the A350 heading away from Westbury around 10 am today - very nice!

Didnt wave as I was in the company Mini, which was surreal having so many Mini owners wave at me (and I totally forgot that I was driving one).

Ironic really, as most of the time when Im in the Coupe, I rarely get a return wave or a flash....

I followed a green 20V on Tuesday between the A46/M4 junction and Pensylvania where you turned right towards Bristol. Just to let you know (in case you didn't): you have some huge dents up the passenger side of your Coupé - looked terrible.

Saw a black coupe with a private play (which I've forgotten) on the M5 heading south, just below Bristol. He pulled over let me past, flashed and waved, etc. Can't remember the plate now, but the car didn't look standard so he must be on here. My car was in shit state so I'm embarrassed to mention it...

R-reg Sprint Blue 20VT parked on Gloucester Rd in Bristol about 9.30 last night. Could be the same one I see parked on Granby Hill in Clifton.

Burgundy 20VT with LE skirts and aftermarket wheels in Bristol on the feeder today (26th Jan) bout 4.40ish, just turning over the Netham Lock Bridge.

Was 2 cars back and one lane over and beeped but didnt notice, driver had a grey woolly hat on.

The wheels were nice and i want to know what they are. Either someone has found a set of 17's that look noce and fit over the front calipers, or its a non turbo, with turbo badges on.

Didn;t get to see if it had brembos or not so dont know.

A 390 St Austell, Near Holmbush. Scots Green 20VT (I think) heading out of town toward St Blazey. I was in the Broom yellow 20VT going in the opposite direction. I waved.

Then a 16 valver in the car park of Asda. (Red one)

My father told me that coops were quite a regular sight around where he lives, but I thought he was lying to make friends.

Well, 2 days in Cornwall and three Coop sightings.

Red one on the A390 headed towards Truro between Grampound and Probus. Around 13:30. Flashed and waved. Not sure of model. (could have been the Asda one from the day before.)

Yellow 20v heading north on M5 at Exeter today, didnt flash or wave as working undercover in works van

Burgundy 20VT on the A38 heading west at the Rattery exit around 10:30am. The car looked exactly like mine. I was heading the other way in my GTV so so point in flashing.

Saw a red coupé this way the other day and I got a wave - I was too slow to wave back. Forgotten where, I'm not very good at this am I?

it was on ebay cant see it myself now he basically couldnt afford to run that and his other car ( porsche of some sort ) he was selling the numberplate separately and it hade a bit of a large bump in the bonnet.

Ok so last sunday (25/03) i was out and about with the mrs in montacute near yeovil, and there were two coops parked within 100 yards of each other!!! First the yellow one with reg starting H8 which ive definately seen somewhere on the forum, and then a silver one which was too tricky to see the reg no. These were seen at about 11.30am. I was in ink black turbo plus parked outside Phelips arms later on. The yellow coop was looking in good nik for sure!!

Spotted a portafino blue 20vt in front of me and a sprint blue going the other way on Tuesday in Redruth in Cornwall both waved.

Ive had a mad 48 hours of coop spotting so bare with me....
Weds 18th - Ink black 20vt parked in clevedon town centre outside paper planet shop at 4.45pm. It was 2000 reg. Nice looking.
Thurs 19th - Portafino blue S-reg cueing to get on M5 at the Weston junction. 7.45am.
Thurs 19th - Silver R-reg in clevedon town centre on a mini roundabout at 8.00am.
Friday 20th(today) N-reg ink black (dunno what model) parked outside a house in Clevedon near timber merchants. Had a nasty scratch on offside rear panel.
Im working in clevedon at the moment, probably all next week aswell. I'll be driving brooks bros plastering van if see one.

Last friday (18th) i saw a yellow coop with spoiler and skirts coming out of entrance of HBOS financial services - reg R617???. Looked nice. 2 mins later i saw dark red r-reg parked in a garage near clevedon school on the road to portishead. Both at about 8.15 am. Its bloody coop crazy round there!!!

Passed a sexy lookin Broom Yellow on bank holiday monday on Sandy Road - toward Chaddlewood, Plympton. I was followed by and then overtaken by a real nice Ink Black on the A38 at Mash Mills flyover, Exeter bound.

Hi, i'm new to Dorset, there's quite a few around Dorchester/Weymouth and several around Bournemouth. Weird thing is i drive to Kent/Herts regularly and never see one when i leave Hants!
Anyone recommend anywhere to mend them locally?

I use S+H Motors in Poole as my local, by all accounts they're great with standard items. I've heard of a complaint regarding the fitting of non standard parts tho.

I've never had any problems and persoanlly would recommend them. However alot of people go the extra distance and goto Rog @ Powerfiat in Basildon.

I also use the South Central spotting section for my Bournemouth spots so keep an eye out on there for me.

Thanks for the advice I'll check out S&H at Poole as soon as I can wrestle it back from the Mrs! I'm hopeful it's just leads/plugs but it suddenly developed a misfire at 2.5k, being an idiot I tried revving through it (throw back to biking days) Didn't seem to like it! Anyhow I get no sense that it's about to expire at any moment.
For the record it's usually the dirtiest green 16v turbo in Dorset, give us a wave, or whatever the etiquette is around here!

Immaculate looking 16v n/a in Tiverton the last couple of days - rare to see them looking that clean. Oh but BTW, the 'disabled' badge doesn't give you the right to park on the pavement and force everyone to walk in front of the traffic in the road to get past your (rather nice) blinking car! Other than that, keep up the good work.

In Sidmouth on Boxing day saw two coupes in two minutes, first was a `W` reg blue one, second a gleaming red `T` plated 20v n/a, both at about 1pm. Sad thing is my wife saw them both before I did! - think she`s getting the bug now..

I guessed it might be you, after seeing you on here. After you turned out on to the seafront, I said what a good looking one and my wife quipped that the coupe wasn`t bad either!

Keep an eye out for a P reg Ink black 20vt on your travels through Newton Pop, as I work nights my chances of being spotted are slightly limited but the empty roads on my commute more than make up for this!

I followed a Portofino 20vt on the A303 toward devon. Me in a Lexus GS450h - nailed it to wave and heard the Wappp - BBBBRRRRrrrrrrrrr as the coop blasted off!! Consider the fact the GS has 460bhp and 540 pft torque but is heavy - that was one bloody fast coop! Just wanted to wave at ya!!!

Four coupes today - all on the way down to Bristol and back. First a silver one somewhere down the Whitchurch road or just after, second a dark red travelling north on the M5. This afternoon, a black one overtook me on the M5, and then I saw a porto going the other way.

Why do I only spot Coups when I'm in a hire car for work? Silver LE westbound on the A303 at about 9am (your beard is much better than mine) and later a T-reg Portofino (your Porto is much cleaner than mine) heading out of Yeovil on the A3088, probably about 2.30pm.

Never seen a Porto in Yeovil, travel the 303 every day. Seen a Scotts Green, bloke never says Hi, even when I have blasted my horn on the same junction side by side, just a dirty look, lol, I have had my Sprinty for about 3 yrs & an Le for 1 & have been spotted by anyone on here, lol

Hi Paul I live out in ilchester & travel to & from yeovil every day, also up & down the area as I am a computer engineer, Ilminster, Taunton, Dorchester etc
Mostly travel in my spinty as the LE has been having a lot of work done to it (Apollo Motors & Performance 3000), bought it a cat D repaired, "note" repair my arse, but while I was at it thought I'd get the lot done

Cant say that I have seen you either but if I do you will always get a wave or a flash of my lights (is yeivil in a black hole, lol), seen a nana, the snotty mentioned, another sprinty another LE, no he doesnt want to know either, even walk over to him one day when he was over Refinish Systems, muttered at me, got in his car & drove off, lol, oh just remembered there is a guy who works in the Seat Garage on Lynx, he has a red 16v, asked me if I had any spare wheels once

My mate John at Apollo was chatting with Mike at 3000 & he asked why I was going to Bristol to get it done, so I gave him a bell, said they hadnt done one for ages but they knew how to do it without engine out think Mikes Dad use to be a Fiat & Coupe specialist

Tuesday night saw a Dark blue coupé on the a38 out of plymouth on the way to exeter.I was in an audi a8 so didnt wave!

mid-day 29th Jan(today) passed a coupe the same colour as mine but a bit grubby coming into Totnes as I was driving out. I was in wifey's GTV so didn't wave. Don't think he/she is on here though. That's the first time I've passed one the same as mine in all the nearly three years I've had mine.

Gonna get her cleaned up, touched up on a few things then he can come & look at her, maybe a couple of weeks, no reasonable offer would be refused, unless he is just a boy racer, sorry not gonna let her go too anyone, had her for a long time & she has been good to me. 2 1/2 yrs with very few problems, battery flat twice, frayed wire once & wouldnt start, bit of solder & splicing & she was ok. Just wish I could keep both lol

I often see a green 20vt heading towards Yeovil from Dorchester, theres a blue 20vt often heading in the opposite direction round 830ish, I saw a record (for me at least) 5 one Friday a few weeks ago, including a red one nr B&Q and a faded red in Tescos in Yeovil as well as silver 20vt on a tow truck with it's rear windows missing! I'm a green dirty 16vt give us a wave!

Just remembered, there is a faded/tatty red one about, used to park in Wickes car park, also the Red one by the Seat garage, think he is one of the mechanics who works there

I own a Sprint Blue in Torbay but I recently saw someone with the same colour and P plate as mine heading towards brixham yesterday (EDIT - just notice it's member owl10) . I wasn't driving it today though and I know a green one is in Brixham from time to time too.

Steel Grey R337 *TD, apparently it came from Devon, was px'd in at Surecar Direct in Bristol.

Does it have a resprayed roof or alternatively a very bad paint finish on the roof?

I have been a bit naughty & bought the car without looking at it- I went on the dealers description, I was quite specific about the condition of the paintwork, so all SHOULD be ok.

Being delivered on Monday, so i'll have to wait till then to find out.

Resto projects always sound great to begin with...

It's stuck in my garage at the moment- i'm half way through putting the engine & box back in after the rebuild.

Started out as a rolling resto, but soon developed into a total restoration.

Goes like stink though (for a classic)- you really feel the speed they can pull in them- it's 36 years old & has poppodum brake discs, but it'll still pull over 120mph (on a runway-obviously!)

Long way of completion at the mo!

Noooooooo. This car was for sale (was on piston heads and the bay IIRC), but the owner at the time was a PR!CK. Drove like a w@nker in built up area's, windows open with music blaring out. He used to work just up the road from my house, so people thought it was me being a knob. That said - might be a new owner now. But that car did nowt for our reputation!!

On a separate issue, I was doing the speed limit on the way home & my O/S/F wheel arch cover decided to wrap itself around the wheel at speed.
Quite scary to begin with as it sounded quite horrific & I thought I had a blow out!

The wife was giving it beans 'n all, as you can imagine as we missed 45mins XFactor (everyones a winner!)

So does anyone have a spare plastic wheel arch cover they could donate for some beer tokens?

Exact same thing happened on the way back from Lee Mill Tesco's. Offside innter wheel plastics came loose and scared me so much I near laid some cable!!!
Was the last run before winter tuck up too!

scared the hell out of me too, it's made a right mess- black burnt plastic everywhere & has bent back the lip on the smaller wing under the bonnet.
Looks like most of it will wash off, and the rest with a little gentle persuasion.

I just had the cambelt done so i'm wondering if it was not put back on properly or it was the wind that tore it off.

I know this will probably be frowned upon for putting this in here, but I think it would suit someone local.

I want to put my Coupe back to standard- so I have on offer a Bailey DV, K&N cone filter & a Peco BB4. I have all reciepts/invoices for the items fitted.

I don't want money for it- just the equivalent standard parts to replace them.

I.e. Air box, standard DV & a rear box- not really fussed as they are cheap enough new (must check on that though!)

There's plenty around here. I've seen a turbo the same colour as mine and a porto blue both in South Brent over the past few weeks. Also a lovely yellow one in Totnes recently. So that's 4 of us within 4 miles of me!

Clear white.

I wanted pearl white but when I mentioned how I loved the brightness and how much in your face the clear white actually is, they pointed out to me that the pearl will dull the white a little so I had a change of heart!

I also got the the lights tinted red a tiny bit to get them standing out more and the dash is now cherry red. I was going to go with a white dash but it didn't look right when I saw a picture from a website. front lights are also lacquered and another back box I got from here will also be fitted to the car.

Thanks. I saw one on a website ages ago and planned to do it to my car. So when I got the chance, I did it. It's strange because I think it makes the car looks lower in my opinion.

Next step is 30mm hubcentric's (which I currently have waiting to be put on) and thinking about spraying the wheels in a grey colour.

I plan to keep the car with no kit on it but if I did then it would have to be a wide kit or a one off build (nothing over the top or chavy) I see more coupe's with kits than without so again it would need to be different.


I thought the colour of your car looked good as it's unusual to see them in that colour. I don't think i've ever seen another one.

two sightings in two days

One yesterday a blueish one going over Lara Bridge and a nice yellow one on the Plimstock way. Not sure which one ether of therm were as it was a fleeting glimpse

Spotted a fellow Ink Black going along Cowick Lane in Exeter about 5pm Wed eve. Was about 5 cars in front of me and could`ve been a plus or LE?

Near Cowley this morning (Sunday about 8h45) I saw a nice blue coop. Owner flashed and waved. Which was nice.

I know I`m new to the coupe thing but seen another one yesterday green going onto the A38 at Plympton turning. I flashed and waved and he Blanked me.

I see the Yellow one nearly every day on the way to work- opposite the Mini garage.

yes just on the hill also watch out when going into Plymouth on the dual carriageway bit at Plymstock after the fixed speed camera they often have a man or a van waiting round the bend so you speed up a bit after the camera and zap they get you. I never been done but seen it happen to loads there.

as i went past im sure this reg plate is from a prominent forum members car, wont say who though! you know if it was you! Bit far from home? or seeing a well known bristol tuner?

Would have stopped, but i was in the outside lane doing about 80 mph on the bike when i saw the coupe, and the lay by is in one of those positions where its hard to pull in and out at the best of times. Not exactly anywhere to turn round there either, only get back to you with a 6 mile detour. As the RAC were there thought you'd be ok!

Managed to get a quick beep beep in, although thinking about it after i pressed the horn, as i wasnt in the coupe you probably just thought it was someone taking the piss!

I often see a green (newer R?) 20vt on the same stretch. There's quite a few around Yeovil, including a blk one with so many bits on it's hard to see it's a coupe.

I saw not one, not two, but three different coupes in one day on Friday.

First I saw a metalic blue one heading out of Southwick near Trowbridge, got a wave after I flashed.

Next while sitting outside the Longs Arms between Trowbridge and Westbury I saw two (!!) sprinties, one with the tan leather interior, and one not.

Just back from a sunny surfing week in Cornwall.
I rented a house in Falmouth and spotted two coupes regularly parked on the road by the Greenbank hotel.
A yellow 16vt ****RUU
and a S reg sprint blue 20vt.

Flashed and waved at a N reg speed red just outside town but I was in a silver VW T5 kombi so must have seemed a bit strange.

All the coupes seemed clean and well looked after.
You've got some great roads to enjoy down there....when they're not clogged with tourists (like me).

On saturday then spotted a fellow broom parked up just off the john lewis roundabout in parkstone area in poole,followed by a nice speed red passing me in the opposite direction at the Lacock lights outside whitehall on route to chippenham around 6pm.
Then finally today drove past an inky on Alder hill again in parkstone poole about 1030 this am.....

another today...god i am being observant...green coupe heading up old christchurch street,bournemouth around 230pm this afternoon...

Spotted V plate yellow coupe heading towards Swindon from Wootton Bassett about 1615 today. I did flash but i was in a coach so driver probably just thought I was a weirdo!!
Also spotted a a light green one (FAE on the reg i think) followed by a black P reg last fri 23rd heading towards Wootton Bassett from Keynes direction. I was in Murple coop, flashed and got response

i saw a yellow coupe on the new bypass in gloucester today on way home,it was travelling towards sainsburys from the a40,nice looking car,but thought id let you know there was some light coloured smoke (possibly white) coming from your exhaust as you sat in traffic.not enough to see as youre in the car but might be worth checking it out if you read this.
