seen a very clean red coupe near Cardiff Royal Infirmary a couple of weeks ago on a Sunday night just before we lost the board. Didn't catch the model was too dark. Put mine to shame though, she was stinking at the time

Just saw an Ink Black LE in Cardiff town centre, wearing a 360-style body kit, bonnet scoop and "LE" number plate.

I rocked up alongside in my Sprint Blue 20VT with Plus wheels and skirts. Gave a little flavour of what's under the bonnet.

Saw a Sprint Blue VT heading North on the A470 near Pontypridd yesterday. Thought it might be TOPRAT, but it wasn't him the in driving seat.

For such a rare car, I've rarely seen the same one twice.

Of out for a spin today. Watch out for me or hear me roar.

Ran side by side with a grey LE (S-reg) between Newport along the M4 to Cardiff and into the centre.

Shame we didn't have a chance to compare what looked like a standard car with mine running about 1.3bar.

Made me really want an LE in grey now.

was followed this morning on the way to work for a little while along the A48 by a silver coop from Culver House Cross going towards Bridgend. Couldn't confirm the model as I only seen it from the front, unfortunate dent on the front of the bonnet though. Think the reg was something along the lines of N***PNL. Anbody's?

he was doing my timing belt on that day!!!
yapps gave me the wrong tensioner so he had to go to lc in newport! he did mension seeing a sprint blue one!
obvious u 2 met briefly!!

Seriously though, I might bring my missus's Seat Leon Cupra (180) next time and see how that copes with the route.

I've gotta get the missus to agree to a ECU remap, perhaps a K&N and maybe a KV04 turbo.... that should gimme 230bhp !

went for a drive in newprt town centre last night,
i was in my sisters pug 106 scrapper as my coop is pauly. saw 2 yellow 20vt in and around the town centre
one was a private plate gianna or simular!! and the other was a normal plate i just cant remember the reg!!

any one on here??

Seen a moon grey plus driving into Cardiff last saturday along Ocean Way at about 1pm. May have been coming in for the FA Cup final. Never seen one in that colour in the flesh before, looked very nice.

Just been on holiday in the Gower Peninsula, in the wife's Micra , well it has 4 doors - easy to get daughter in and out of, it's small - no lost wing mirrors down country lanes and can be easily parked anywhere, without a fifty point turn . It's lack of puff up the slightest hill does get annoying though

In over 500 miles only saw one coop, Portofino in Swansea on Saturday morning, lost count of the number of Porsches , 350Zs and Astons I saw.

I was surprised to see another coupe in newport.
The only other one I've ever seen saw was a 20vt sprint in the multistory 2 weeks ago.
I parked next to the guy and he didn't want to talk?

Car is in A&J today for a service and to find where my water is going (put a pint in every week)

Saw a coop tonight leaving the Apollo Cinema (new James Bond - liked it) in Port Talbot.

Don't know the model, or the reg, as it was lashing down. It appeared to be either silver met, or met mauve (murple?)

We went in different directions leaving the cinema exit.

If you are reading, I would have followed you for a chat, as you are the first coop I've seen since buying mine. Unfortunately though the wife was in the car and she is currently trying to get herself elected as chair of the "wives against coupes committee", and she'd not have been impressed if I stopped for a chat in the persisting rain, just to talk about "cars!!!". Imagine how ridiculous that would be.

Just checked Multimap to make sure that wasn't me today. No, I wasn't on Albany Road. Have only been working in Cardiff for 6 months and am useless with street names.

Surely Wellfield is one way (at least according to multimap), was Goose going the wrong way up a one way street? Or is multimap wrong?

Not seen a Coop in Cardiff (apart from mine) for an age.

Multimap is wrong.. wellfield is two way, although because of the way people park on there its very difficult to get down at all!

Goose: I don't come into work that way, I come off the link road and past the Athletic stadium.

My father says that since I gave him a (frightening) drive as a passanger in mine, he has seen about a dozen. He lives in Cornwall. Me, I've seen a grand total of 1 since I bought it a month ago.

This being said, it was spotting one in Cornwall that gave me the idea to buy one in the first place.

1996 Blue Metallic 16v NASP on the M4 today, westbound at about 17:15, Port Talbot.

Travelled in 2 car coupe convoy for quite a while. I sped off at one point, then got caught in traffic and he caught up. We waved and flashed as he headed towards Swansea at J42 and I carried on.

2 sightings yesterday

Steel Grey 20VT travelling Eastbound on M4 between Pencoed and Llantrissant junctions. Waved like a crazy thing as I passed, no response seemingly.

Nice looking female driver with long dark hair & sunglasses.

Then in about the same place on the way home 13 hours later, in the opposite direction, an Inky. Didn't realise it was a coop until it was a fair way behind me.

2 in one day must be a record around here. They are like Hen's teeth.

Had another encounter with the phantom Porto 20V NASP yesterday. Saw him / her heading over the bridge towards the Motorway, so gave chase. Followed all the way to Jersey Marine where I overtook. s/he went to Swansea, I turned back to the Shell station for more V power! When I overtook, I was concentrating on the road so much, I forgot to see who the driver was.

Fair play, those NASPS are pretty nippy, but no match for the turbo \:D

yeah ive seen ur yellow one about.. i got a deep red one.. if you happen to go down port talbot seafront u will see 3 more or less all the time and that porto one is from margam in port talbot.. where i live theyre all from this area.. Most of them are 18-20 and hammer the hell out the poor cars..

Goose - I would have been on the Briton Ferry bridge at about that time. I don't come off the M4 for Fabian Way, I come off at the next junction, but yeah, coulda been me. What are you doing in Swansea Goose, you're not over here pinching our wimmin?

I get through about £60 a week. That's 400 miles.

£12.00 a day is about the hammer. I'm not going to mention the speeds I do, but 4000rpm is 5th is about the norm \:\)

Of course mine is a loverly standard car and yours is a nasty gas guzzling pollution machine. \:D \:D \:D

To be honest, the company I work for recompense me only £30 a week for petrol, if it wasn't for the unsociable hours, I'd take the train more. I used to, only using the car about twice a week, but since I've had the coop, I just want to drive it all the time. Swansea-Cardiff return on the train is now down to below £5.00 as long as you don't travel in the morning.

followed a portofino blue coupe off the M4 at J32 and followed him into cardiff at 5:30 tonight. He gave me the thumbs up, then turned towards Whitchurch.
Also spotted a portofino blue coupe, S reg, for sale at Alpha and yapps for 3995. have not stopped to look at it yet.

saw 2 yellow coupes on tuesday.
1 was parked up on a drive on the edge of Caerphilly, T reg, looked good from the quick glance that I had.
The second was parked up, or should I say broken down, on the outskirts of llantwit major. I recongised it as a local cardiff car, a 16V with a private plate I sometimes drive past in the morning. I stopped to see if he wanted help, but he was just waiting for it to cool down as it regularly overheats!

Red coop headed towards the Canton / Leckwith lights, through the speed camera area. Today at 14:00. Waved, but didn't see any reaction.

Also flashed a dark met blue 1996 coop (16v???) on the M4 between Pencoed and Llantrissant, eastbound at about 07:30 yesterday morning. Guy had long hair. May have encountered him on the M4 in the opposite direction before.

Also same spot, the day before. Red one headed westbound. About 10am I think.


Mottles, that guy with the 20v NA in tescos Western Avenue works there I think. (or does an awful lot of shopping)

Okay, this may be an apocryphal tale, but a couple of colleagues of mine have spotted a PINK (not portofino blue) coupe in the cardiff area more than once. This was from a couple of girls, so the whole "I saw a pink coop, so your car is gayer than my Omega" thing is out of the window.

I showed them a porto, they said no, more Barbie pink they said.

Its been a festival of coop spotting recently.

Found a 16v on the m4 at Cardiff west today, pulled along side and we gave each other the thumbs up.

I pulled into a layby on the 4232 to see if he would pull over, so I could invite him to the meet on Sunday, but he went past \:\( Came out of the layby and followed him through Leckwith. He went into the city and I turned off at Canton.

Going in the opposite direction was a wine red 20VT too.

It was dark, so, either an Ink black, or an electric blue cruising through Neath tonight at about 1:20 am. I was the dude engaged in conversation outside Wetherspoons who let out a yelp of "Fiat Coupe, C'mon, Yes!!!!" with his arms in the air.

Over exuberant I know.

If you'd have come around the block, (as people on a cruise do), you'd have seen my yellow one outside my house.

My mate spotted a green S reg not far from tesco extra on western avenue. He was in a Y reg corsa, he said he to beat you off the lights but you flew past.

Also, what are the best garages around south wales? I rang up sea wall, asked for matthew as described in the recommeded garages and got told no one called matt works here and we dont do coops, we're an MOT garage??????

LOL Sounds about right. You can't go down there without some comment about "unreliable Italian Scrap" from his dad. Fine words indeed, coming from a Masser driver. LOL

Just pop down and speak to Matt in person. You can usually catch him towards the end of the afternoon / early evening when the p!sstakers have gone home.

very clean sprint blue 20vt coming down the A38 he saw me and followed me down to newport rd.. had a little chat at the lights didnt find out if he was on th forum.. this was about 2 sundays ago whilst tile shopping.. rock!

Spotted 2 today.. a yellow one.. think it was a 16vt owned by the guy who works at tesco on western ave.. gave him a wave

The 2nd was coming down pensicely rd in llandaff.. burgandy 20v i think

And of course a lovely silver LE parked across the road from my mates last night..

He's good fella, still panel beating away. Knee's have been giving him jip lately but they can't afford to lose him as a beater. I think I seen you a few weeks ago, driving up Rumney hill, I was in the Mrs's Alfa GT at the time. Am I correct in thinking you are not driving the red coop now? If so, when did you switch, cos it was a red coop with black wheels that I saw.

New CTR hey, they are still quite rare at the moment, as are the GT's. They will never be as rare as our coop's tho ;\)

i swapped for a jag s-type in june (dont ask) then i sold that and bought an £800 bargain sprint blue coop and so far ive spent £2.5k getting it up to a hopfull figure of 330 bhp!

at the mo the the sprinter is being shipped around the houses and im driving a fiesta diesel! lol

glad to hear your dads still ok ish lol i'll have to pop down and see him soon.

Saw a green 20v n/a or 16vt a few days back. Followed you from culver house cross down the link road and then east along the M4. Lost you on the slip road but think you carried on past J32??

Also, spotted the a silver (P131 ***) in North cardiff over the last few days. Once in Radyr at night time, and once heading towards danescourt from radyr during the day. Saw too late to flash at night and you were too far away during the day.

Will hopefully have a meet to get the coop nicely run back in when i get home ;\)

Wine red T plate 20VT on Eastland road, Neath today at about 3:30pm. The driver had a HUGE grin on his face. I didn't wave, as I was on my way back from the recycling centre in the Xantia.

Went straight home, washed the coop and took it for a drive. Left it at the back of the drive so I have to take it to work tomorrow.

A sprint blue (I think) flashed me as he was waiting in Pantbach road this morning. I was busy showing the black wheels to my passenger and forgot to wave. Saw a similar car turning out of Seawall Road Saturday afternoon, but I was in the wifes car.
Coming back into cardiff tonight, I was side by side with another yellow 20VT for about a mile. When we stopped, he didn't even look over, or realise that we had identical cars.

It was vinvi grey and had an LE front grill, I only caught it out of the corner of my eye, only the wheels stood out as non-LE. Couldn't see the interior but the colour alone should be enough to say it was an LE unless somebody has gone to the trouble of a full re-spray \:\)

I saw today a beautiful, totally standard 20VT in stunning Giallo Ginestra, leaving the rear car park of Cardiff Central Station. It was driven by the lucky b@stard who had just handed over a considerable wad of notes to myself for the privelige of it's ownership.

Yeah, mate i jused pulled off into Newport and had a look to see where the leak was coming from. It was barely a dribble when under 70 degrees but as the temps and pressure rose in the traffic i could see the level of the resevoir dropping.

Luckily i had a 5l container of de-ionised water in the boot just in case so i kept topping it up untill the traffic drove down and got back to oxford fine after that.

Driving through Buith Wells (however its spelt) on Friday on my weekend away and spotted a black S reg 20vt right behind me. Heard your dump valve go off thinking it was mine then i looked behind and saw ya.

Champagnemorgan works in Radyr with a broomie, but it is a 20VT. In fact it is my old one.

It definitely doesn't have 20VT wheels and its parked on a driveway outside someones house, saw it yesterday (Sunday) too so I'm assumuing they live there.

Could be a note under the wiper informing them of the meet, just so we can match the 9 coops of last time ;\)

Couple of spots

yellow coop driving into cardiff on th A48 this morning around 8.45.. i gave a flash.

Another yellow one this time heading towards Gabalfa at the lights at tesco extra around 6.45

And a silver 20vt just like mine, followed me of the M4 on the me a48 through to llandaff

Does the maroon coupe parked in Cardiff central station every day belong to anybody on the forum? Have started to drop somebody off there daily and it is always parked in roughly the same place.

not sure yet.. to be honest i dont think it will be for a while as every time benny and matt try to organise one there is a distinct lack of people showing.. which I think is proving annoying.

Fingers crossed we may have a xmas/winter meet but it will need to be a good show as they may give up trying.

Followed a silver T plate 20V NA out of Cardiff on the A4232 Westbound this evening, and onto the M4. I was up its chuff for a while in my beast of a Xantia Estate. When I overtook, the driver was a guy (30s I'd say) with dark hair. Didn't recognise him.

Spotted a sprint blue just entering the road works near J30 East bound on the M4 on bank holiday Monday. I think it was about 12.30

I thnk it was a modded coop and there were 2 people in it, only spotted last second so didn't get much of a look.

The Sprinty was my other half mate... the car is beautiful.. looks gorgeous in the rain just need to get a few of the stone chips sorted out on the front of the car.. And then she is in full glory!!!!

How long did the Type R last, can't have been much over 6 months was it?

Weather aside at the mo, the TT is a nice place to be sitting, my Mrs had a Mk1, supreme quality cabin. Is yours a new shape or old?

Alan: Damn times flies, only seemed like this time last year that you were talking about her waiting to receive it... my girlfiend is driving the Brabus Roadster now yer, as pretty as the Alfa GT was, it was no fun. The Roadster is great, surprising amount of space for it's size too, managed a full load to Glastonbury and back this year with ease laugh

3 spots today smile

Initially saw Craig's parked in a disabled spot at Gol this morning laugh

And then saw two broom yellow's in the space of a few mins around 4:30pm. One heading towards Cardiff Bay on the A4323, just before the Leckwith turn off, and then another at Culver House Cross roundabout, looked like it was turning onto the A4323 heading towards M4 J33.

I was in the Smart on all occassions so you wouldn't have seen me smile

Any body on here?

Yer, most Sunday's. 4 on 4 or 5 on 5 usually depending on numbers between a group of mates for fun. Used to play indoors until they opened Gol.

Then another Scotts Green 20vt hooning past me on the M4. Might have been Truffle, I could still smell the trouser accident he had that morning on the M5 smile

It was Truffle's first ever time in Wales. Although the part of Newport we went to probably isn't the place to go to make an impression!

No, it wasn't, however was owned by a mechanic with a whole yard of insane motors. A 400 brake Mercedes Cosworth, several type-R's, a lovely black Nissan 300ZX, a 4x4 89 BMW 325i and a forged 500 brake Honda and many other big bhp creations he's building. And he's never been on a track, just the local roads around Newport chinny

I have recently spotted 2 FCs in the Malpas area of Newport both travelling towards Newport along the Malpas by-pass. Not far from where I live. The first was about 3 weeks ago (yellow) and then a Porto Blue (same colour as mine) just a few days ago at about 7am...........On your way to work ?

Tuesday 8th November -Chepstow and M4 heading west past Bath.

Filling up my X1 at Tesco Chepstow gas station, when a smart looking red R reg 20V pulled in around 9.30am.
Briefly spoke to driver at the kiosk, who said the car belonged to his good lady wife and it had had a recent refurbishment at FCSS with Joe. smile
It so happens that's where mine is now and hopefully Joe is putting together a plan to get it through the failed MOT this Monday. cry

The red Coupe looked very smart travelling over the Severn Bridge and was cruising comfortably along the M4 at motorway speeds! wave

Might have been the same oblivious driver I saw at same place who also ignored the crazy man flashing and beeping at him?

During our stay local walks, I found where the Inky lives that I keep seeing now and again. It looked in a very sorry state, filthy and very rusty brake discs. Apparently not moving much in lockdown. Nothing a bucket & sponge and a little TLC wouldn't sort.

I discovered a hidden cafe there a while ago. Very nice on a cold day. A cup of tea in old fashioned cups, a big slice of cake and a seat next to a wood burner.... And often a gathering of dogs and their owners..

One driving away from the racecourse and a gorgeous plus in the carpark.

Sadly, I was in the panda so my waving and flashing at the first one probably had them overly confused.

Really really strange to see 2 in different locations in the space of 1 minute.
