Removing valve stem seals

Removing valve stem seals - 26/05/2018 15:30

Hi, does anyone have any hints on how to remove the valve seals - before I resort to wrecking them. There is not a lot of room. Pointy pliers from the top just rips the rubber. I can get screwdriver in from the side but can't get the leverage.
Thinking about just knocking a chisel through the metal band from the top if it's softish metal. Don't want to do too much damage though.
Any ideas welcome!

Thanks, Makkadiamond. Looks just the thing, and pretty reasonable.

If you twist the seal first, to break time's bond, it pulls out much more easily, even using needle nose pliers, though that tool certainly helps.

Got tool from internet.
Waggle, twist an pull..... Bizzarely, the seals on the inlet side were really stuck and took A LOT of waggle effort! I had to wreck the metal band on one. The exhaust side were much easier. I thought it might be the other way round.
