20 valve turbo engine rocker cover - 15/11/2019 13:28
I have removed the engine rocker cover from my 20VT (plus) with the idea of repainting it. The original red paint is flaking badly. My plan is to clean it up and use the VHT Red Crinkle paint to restore the look on the top side
However, in cleaning the underside of the cover before I paint the top, I notice there is a 'windage' (?) plate that seems to be attached with sealant to the underside, and which contains gauze that is part of the oil breather system (there is the oil breather outlet on the side of the rocker cover).
is this removable to clean out, or is it better to wash it through with solvent to remove the gunk.
many thanks
