Black upright panel between door and rear window - 08/03/2019 17:33
Sorry don't know what it is called, is it an alloy? Rust/oxidisation, is this usually associated with leakage around the logo? Is there a cure?

It's called the B pillar cover, yes it's made of aluminium so does suffer from electrolysis/corrosion, the leaking behind the logo comment you say is not related to this badge, it's associated with the rear quarter Pininfarina badge below.

Thanks Joe, is it possible repair/replace? I'm assuming an alloy would need a specialist primer?

I removed one of mine and had it repaired and repainted a few years ago.
A bit involved in removing and replacing the cover as a bit of the interior trim needs to be removed first. The "how to" on here is easy to follow.

Yes you need an etch primer unless you want to be doing the whole thing again in 3 years. Remove all of the corrosion back to bright metal first.
