Query Noisy Fuel Pump

Hi All,

As per the title. Pump is original to car and is standard issue. It's not an uprated fuel pump.

Pump has been noisy in years gone by when starting - but always goes quiet.

Today the pump is prominently loud and can be heard inside and outside of the car.

No issues with fuel delivery that I can feel. But is this an early warning sign?

Yes the sun is out-so of course fiat coupe paranoia comes to the fore!!!

Just been out in it again for another shortest journey - whining away over the noise of everything now.

Performance seems unaffected and fuel is getting to the engine.

Very loud whine though and off puting. I'll let her cook down and have a good look over her.

Worth trying first is the fuel filter as it could be partially blocked

That's fairly recent as well - but going to follow your suggestion - currently having a look at things in more detail - no smell of fumes which I take as a good sign.

No obvious wiring issues at present.
