blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 16/04/2011 18:16
well i'v been doing alot of rocker/coil covers for other forum members and i have a red rocker/coil cover thats 3 years old on my car and was wanting to do something a bit different so i had some time during lunch and i thort i'd get on with it , was hopeing to have my blue water pipes from the group buy here before brooklands so i could have had it all fitted but it looks like they will turn up after brooklands . have also sprayed both my front and rear strut braces electric blue so blue is the theme for the car .
still have the rocker cover to do but i'm happy with the way the coil cover has turned out so fingers cross for the rocker cover , i know its not going to be to everybodys taste but i would like some feedback before i do the rocker cover .

Maybe interesting to see how it contrasts with a polished rocker cover? Than it all the same colour! I noticed
this which I think works very well. Check out other items for sale.

i have two polished rocker covers just incase i messed the first one up but i was thinking having the rocker cover blue anodized and polished lettering with a polished coil cover and polished oil filler cap as i have a spare coil cover and can swap them around .

your nuts T
I know
Does that mean you'll paint me a nice new style Fosters ring pull colour blue rocker cover, ready for Brooklands, very cheap
Will give you one back in return (a rocker cover that is, not cracked)
Will even give you a coil pack cover too, if you've done a good job

Re: blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 16/04/2011 23:11
i would love too T but i'm very busy at the moment and may not get mine done in time for brooklands but i could have one done for spa but it won't be cheap

Re: blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 16/04/2011 23:35
to save you money ,you get the polished rocker/coil cover and then i'll give you a price as thats where all the hard work is and if i had to do it you couldn't justify the cost , sorry alex

Re: blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 10/05/2011 08:11
which lacquer do you use Nismo? I spent ages doing mine and just before refitting I got some carb cleaner on it and all the "heat proof engine lacquer" ran and peeled
Posted By: Anonymous
Re: blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 10/05/2011 16:21
this cover hasen't been lacquered but i have use the petrol resistant lacquer from halfords on other covers that i have done with no problems .

Re: blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 10/05/2011 16:36
Cheers I might give it a go; I used Gunk engine lacquer and like I say it dissolved when a bit of carb cleaner landed on it. How pants is that?

Re: blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 10/05/2011 16:44
Did you read the tin? Some chemical retardant lacquers require that they are baked to cure them before the lacquer is chemical resistant...
Posted By: Anonymous
Re: blue anodized coil/rocker cover - yes or no ? - 10/05/2011 18:11
i have never heard or used Gunk engine lacquer and as Mario said some paints need to be bake for the cemical resistance to start to work .

Hi guys, That's my car, btw, it's in Chinese, not Japanese
The broom stick is because of the carbon bonnet, the inner part where the bonnet strut connects are not strong enough to withstand the compression force when the bonnet is closed, so I've bled the gas inside of them.
For me, the cost of just anodizing the spark plug cover is around 30 quids, the whole rocker cover is around 60.
The blue looks mint, but I wondering what it'll look like in orange
Cheers,
