Respray - 09/09/2011 17:09

I've finally had the paint sorted on my car, which was in a sorry state. The lacquer was peeling on the bonnet, A and C pillars, roof and front bumper. I'd been putting it off for a long time for fear of the cost vs what the car was worth.

Last August I had patch234 come down, mop the car and do his best with the lacquer. It looked great but it was a temporary measure as the peel soon continued until I was left with this.

I changed jobs and now work with car enthusiasts whose constant piss taking about the paintwork forced my hand. And I'm glad it did! I rung around and ended up going with a recommendation from a mechanic mate. C W Body repairs in Southsea quoted me a price I couldn't refuse.

I had the roof, A & C pillars, bonnet and front bumper resprayed and I replaced the bonnet badge with a new one to finish it off. I can now drive the car with pride again!

It was a nice sunny day so I took some shots at Southsea seafront.

wow, wow and wow. Glad to see you kept the black sills and lower bumpers. IMHO this incarnation is what the coupe is all about. Later LEs and Plusess are "all fir coat and no knickers".

Blimey, the roof looked like bad case of sunburned peeling skin !

Nice one. I'd love a respray. Got a few dents to sort first though.

Re: Respray - 06/05/2014 20:13

You'll be pleased to hear my £400 partial respray is holding up a treat. No further peeling on the areas which were sprayed, although the drivers door is starting to go!

Thanks for the enthusiasm Mark smile

Seems like a top quality job.

Is your Coop a daily driver?

Re: Respray - 07/05/2014 13:19

It is, but I only do around 4,000 miles per year.
