Rear Quarter Pininfarina badge - 28/08/2014 11:32

Hi was considering permanent removal of the rear quarter badges has anybody done this and how is the hole removed? could this be filled or is it welded and ground down done a search but not found any that go into that sort of detail
If anybody has done this how did it turn out?
Thinking of just putting stickers back on as opposed to the pin through badge

Cheers

You could fibreglass the rear and fill it or weld it. Choice is yours.

I have also thought about it, however, properly sealed badges shouldn't leak again.

Did you have any issue's when welding I.e panel distortion!
I was wondering if it might be viable to patch it from inside and fill the hole with filler? worst case would be the small hole appearing again!
Cheers

Took mine off over 10yrs ago. Simple fibrefill on the inside and finished with regular filler on the outside.
Never had any problems.

And the front seats too, time consuming job , dieing the seat panels, but fooled the RAC man who thought they came with the car .Well worth the 50-100 quid it cost to do them !

Seats look good. I was thinking of a similar thing for mine using silver.

Not keen on the wheels though. They look a bit small!

The originals are waiting to be sprayed so might go back one...wheels are 15 inch and car has not been lowered...the dye I used was very good, will add eBay reference number after this message

How much did you use on your seats?

best thing is to get a 500ml leather colourant ALL IN ONE ,if you buy the kit i think the leather prep, alcohol cleaner and leather finish comes with it. all sponges, clothes, and gloves are included , i believe..
Best way to buy this, as you will need more of the coloured dye than anything else is to get them singulary . This way , if get the 500ml bottle, you can also re-do it at a later date or if change your mind and want to do other panels of the seats. I ran out of most of the bottles , when ordering the 50ml ones, so if are doing 4 small panels of the seats then 250ml will suffice. Also, if you buy the all in one , you dont need the leather finish as its mixed in already into the dye. Hope this ramble helps...

Cool. I'll put that in my watch list.
Bodywork needs doing first though!
