Head Lining - 28/05/2015 10:33

Never been a fan of the grey head lining in the coupe since my seat leon cupra r has a black head lining and just finishes of the interior that bit better , so i bought some faux leather and heat resistant glue and have now covered it and I think it will be a good improvement in the coupe , kept my old head lining just incase I don't like it wink , i will post some photos of it installed .

Looks pretty impressive!

Just a good job you don't have a sunroof as that would of been tricky!

Re: Head Lining - 28/05/2015 12:26

I tried dying it with auto glym black spray dye but it didn't work and just went back to grey so covering it was the next option .

Re: Head Lining - 28/05/2015 20:55

It will looks great. I've made my head lining in black alcantara and it makes a massive difference to the feel of the interior. The grey one just looks hurl

No, my seats are from Lancia Delta HF mk2(2.0 16v NA). As far as I know Delta mk2 was not available in the UK? The seats model is the same as the plus/le coupe seats.

They look like Recaros.

Head lining- looks a lovely job but for me it makes the interior look too dark.

Yes, with Lancia emblem embossed driving

All installed and a big improvement to the light grey head lining as it just finishes off the interior . Will post some photos tomorrow .

Re: Head Lining - 07/06/2015 20:27

Nice idea! It must give it a different quality by using that material rather than it just being black.
Did you remove the existing lining or stick it to it?
Maybe a 'how to'?
Have you thought about covering the steering column cowl with the remains? I can't find the post/picture of someone who has done this which I thought was a good upgrade too!

Re: Head Lining - 08/06/2015 19:08

yes the texture of the lining matches very well to all the plastic trim . I used unibond pva on the head liner and left to dry to give the spray heat resistant glue something to grab hold of , then just take your time to smooth out the lining and trim to the old lining , job done and not to hard to do .

Re: Head Lining - 15/08/2015 09:32

Looks tidy , does it feel that its more spacious now ?
Done mine with some furniture spray dye. Looks good and original;))

Re: Head Lining - 15/08/2015 12:40

it doesn't make it feel more spacious or cramped and doesn't make the interior feel darker either , just finishes the interior off a lot better than the light grey lining that looks out of place to me now .

Re: Head Lining - 17/03/2016 21:34

Next on my list.
Not something I had thought about before reading your post Nismo.
Going for a 'bible black' interior so this should do it. thumb

Re: Head Lining - 17/03/2016 21:54

It's been in the car now for 10 months and still looks as good as when it was 1st done , I don't notice that I have changed from grey to black and no one else notices it either unless I say it's been changed .

Re: Head Lining - 17/03/2016 22:11

I know, no one will notice/not interested. But I will.
I guess it will be easier to remove one of the front seats to get the headlining out?

Re: Head Lining - 18/03/2016 09:19

yeah the more space you have the easier it will be to remove and refit the headlining .

Re: Head Lining - 23/03/2016 19:19

Just finished putting everything back together.

I went for a semi-perforated lining.

Managed to get the lining out without removing the seats, but only just.

Also, installed a rear courtesy light.

Thanks for the heads up Nismo.

must give it a more expensive feel to the interior.

Re: Head Lining - 05/04/2016 22:11

Sorted out the vanity mirror frame by increasing the outer size and covering the frame with leather.

Also, continued the tie in, covering the door grab handles in the same semi-perforated material. The door handle cover, with leather.

Covered the steering column cowl in leather.

To compare, the top part of the cowl on the right in leather. The bottom half to the left, still in the plastidip I had previously sprayed both in.

Both covered in leather.
