Seats recovered

Seats recovered - 07/05/2019 11:48

I have just got back the seats from my broom yellow 20vt. I am really pleased how they turned out. Wasn't sure about the Pininfarina logo, but it looks great. Went for alcantera and leather combo as leather is too hot in summer and too cold in winter.
Just have to fit them now.

Excellent job. Bravo!

Do these have more bolster added and better definition (less flat) or is it just because they are newly refurbished and haven't had bums sat in them yet?

There is additional foam over the whole seats as well as replacing the worn out foam. They are much firmer now.

They look great in my view. Really different and a great alternative to the standard leather.

I'd imagine the material makes the seat just a bit more "grippier" to - which is what you need in those fast corners!

Tres Bien!
Anyone had a seat refurb here in the UK?

Re: Seats recovered - 29/05/2019 13:35

I still have to fit the seats but I hope that the alcantara makes the seats the same as the original cloth when cornering. I also have a Plus with leather seats but I slide all over the place when cornering hard.
I hope to have the seats in before the end of June. I am just in the process of re-dyeing the carpet and sorting out spraying the centre console with Plastidip.

I'd be glad if you included some pictures of the process of coating the centre console with plastidip. I'll have to do mine in the near future, as it is gunked up pretty good!

OK will do. I have stripped it already, but still working on the handbrake bit.

That's an excellent result FC cool How long did the job take and care to give us a rough cost?

Re: Seats recovered - 06/01/2020 08:48

The guy took about 4 weeks as he is always very busy. I just took him the seats as I already had them out of the car.
The cost was 1000 euros. The guy is in Southern Spain so probably no use to the uk Coupe owners.
He doesn’t speak English and I only have very basic Spanish so it was interesting getting the deal done!

Thanks - I suspect it would be more expensive in the UK frown No doubt the new seats transforms the car's interior so you'll be well pleased smile

Yes, very pleased. I did the rest of the interior at the same time so looks like a new car. Now have to save some cash to sort the body out!!!

They look brill Frazer.

My drivers seat (cloth) is threadbare so was thinking of re-covering, so this has helped me decide !

The alcantara/leather combo is very Alfa Romeo.

I think the Pinin logo also looks spot on.
