Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 09/05/2009 20:32

I have spent quite some time going through the Coupé pictures thread removing the dead links, comments and converting live links into thumbnails. It has taken weeks but hopefully you all now find it much easier to browse the pictures.

If you have comments on any of the pictures could you please place them on this thread and keep the Pictures thread for pictures only.

Thanks

Bob

I do like the look of that, I never realised that the 16V was available in Ink though cool

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 01/06/2009 21:15

Thanks, done 150 miles today so sadly doesn't look quite as gleaming as that anymore.

Are there not that many 16V examples in ink black? All the more reason to keep it clean then!
Posted By: Barmybob

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 01/06/2009 22:17

I have never seen an Ink Black 16V, I thought they were all solid black.

Early Brochures only show solid Black, so ink black is rare cool

I suspect it must have been added in 1995, along with Blitz Blue.

Just to confirm, do you have a standard suspension setup on the Coupe?

Thanks Hani. Yep, all standard, why do you ask?

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 28/08/2009 11:49

Thanks Neil, I have the PIU bumper installed with lowering Eibach springs (car is lowered by 3cm, front + rear) and I feel the car is really low at its front. Anyhow the car is not ready yet and will see how it drives on our bad roads here frown

I just wanted to see how the PIU bumper look with the standard suspension setup.

Do you consider any lowering in future?

smile
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 28/08/2009 17:03

Possibly. Am worried at ride comfort really so may well leave it as it is. Any pics of yours? It's worth mentioning that black alloys seem to make ride height seem lower and disguise the fact that standard wheels are too small quite well. Otherwise I would probably do suspension and after market wheels.

An interesting colour combo there! I'm sure it will grow on me, just a shock at first glance. Full marks for bravery though, some people will NOT approve!

I personally think it looks ok, the more I look at it, the better it looks.

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 07/09/2009 19:15

Yeah I wasn't sure at first but I saw Sparkyman's Coop with LE front seats and I thought it looked cool and then the opportunity came for me to get a complete LE interior (the handbrake and gear lever are getting added later wink ) at an unbelievably cheap price so I thought "what the censored" and now I love it.

I think the LE interior would work well with a yellow Coop too IMHO,anybody got any pics of that?

Baz smile

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 07/09/2009 19:19

Very nice Baz thumb

You're right, the red interior would go with all non-metallic colour Coupes.

Now if I were you I would add a splash of red to the exterior too- red Fiat badge, red Brembos and red Pininfirina badges.

Nah I don't want to go too over the top smile . I'll be keeping my Brembos silver as I think I've got just enough red on the disc hubs and centre caps to keep the outside styling relevant to the interior. The only other styling mod that I'm considering is painting the light pods gloss black as I fancy going for an LE+ hybrid type of look cool .

Thanks for the comment folks thumb .

or

2- post is as a link and give it a name

or

3- post is as a media tag

Thanks Tony,it cost me £1050+200 paint for full respray.
For that price it was complitely debaged , and le bodykit fitted , mirrows , b-pillars , door handels been sprayed in satin black so i cant moan really smile

Saying that the bodywork isn't perfect , the problem is you have to watch them and point at every single bit , they've nearly sprayed my b-pillars in diamond black , it's good i've turned up for a check grr

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 17/11/2009 23:07

Hello Martijn,

Yes I am on the Dutch forum as well.Luckily we all have different tastes otherwise the world would be quiet boring.
We should have a minimeet one day?

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 18/11/2009 11:03

Bambi, Love the exhaust- what is it? tidy engine bay too.
You have an arm rest! did you fit that yourself?
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 18/11/2009 15:23

Hi Sonic,
The exhaust is ss and was especially made for me by EPS in Holland.
Yes you won't find many armrests in a coupe, haha.
It was simply taken from a Fiat Stilo and only a little bit of work!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 18/11/2009 19:37

Deffinately true on the boring world side Arthur!!

Like i said, the car looks stunning and you personalised it your way, which is fine - you paid for your car wink The Armrest also looks good, do you perhaps have a picture of it when it folds down? How did you mount it?

i do find cheap alternatives on ebay or marktplaats (dutch ebay) but im afraid that they will just look cheap.

As for the minimeet-> We should setup something, i tried to do this for Auto Italia @ Houten, but 500 views and 3 reactions later i decided to call it off.

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 22/11/2009 22:34

Bambi - I'm also interested in more info on the Stilo armrest.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 24/11/2009 18:24

Hi Martijn and Per,

I have attached some pics of the armrest on the "pictures only site".
I t was done several years ago and I recall that it wasn't too much work except for some slight alterations. The downward mode has 2 positions, which do not conflict with the handbrake.
Martijn with regard to the minimeet let's wait till I have solved my boostproblem.
Setting up a meeting is sometimes a hassle but I guess that's just the way it is.

Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 28/11/2009 19:43

Hi Martijn, sorry to hear about the clutch problem. It looks like you will need a new clutch?
Remember you were interested in my wheels? I live in Enschede.
I'll do my best to make a picture of the mount probably by the next week. Enjoy the weekend!
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 29/11/2009 13:54

Ahh... Now i remember!!

Yeah your wheels looked real well, i bought different ones tho (the abarth essessee) because i could get them for less than the retail price of the tyres. (bridgestone potenza's).

I do need a new clutch indeed, pricey but logic with 131k i guess.

Anyways back on topic: did you have perhaps have any pics of the mount? Has it been screwed on?
I guess that my 16vt midconsole is different, tho.

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 04/05/2010 09:13

Thanks for doing that!

Ok, I understand about the image popper now.

I've changed the wheels since I took these, well sort off. They're still the same style (Team Dynamics Jet 100+), but I've gone back down to 15's as the ride was a little 'harsh'. I did wonder about people's thoughts on these rims, but so far I've had positive feedback, although now I've changed them, I think they look a little better as there's a little less rim, and I little more rubber - it looks a bit more balanced. I think they suit the car quite nicely! (They look white-ish in the pics, but that's just the sun - they're actually just 'normal' alloy colour) Oh, no more text - it's supposed to be pics only!!

That one was set up so that it could be my PS3 backdrop cool

Used to do a bit of photography in the old days, thought it was time to have another play at it. I need to find a location this week, not sure what kind of backdrop will suit a dark Green Coupé though confused

Your car looks stunning. cool

It's great to see the beautiful straight sill line.
So brave not to follow the well trodden(almost obligatory) body kit road when enhancing your coupes looks.

Sure, here's both pics and templates for you to use (plastic or aluminium).

http://www.fiatklubben.nu/depa/index.php?sub=viewcar&car_no=321

The rest will always be a little trial/error but mainly:

1. Cut the middle part of the bumper lip
2. Bolt/screw the left fin to the exaust heat shield and the undertray.
3. Screw the right fin to the undertray and glue the front end to the tank.
4. Screw the middle fins to the undertray. Selfdrilling stainlees screws are easiest/best.

Ok I think that's me?
thanks in that case, they are Liquidmetal Static, 18x7.5".

They really do go great with the Coupe's design, they look like factory 18" which was what I wanted.
Found them at www.discounttiredirect.com

Cheers matey!

I cleaned it inside and out over the last few days. Had a play with my new toy, snow foam smile makes a proper mess of the driveway, takes ages to go away, but good fun all the same.

A decent polish with the SRP made it look great in the sun this weekend. I couldn't be bothered with claying it and a full seal due to a bad back so I guess I'll do it all over again in a few weeks before the summer comes.

I bought the new header tank from power Italia just a few months before it came off the road in 2010 I think, shortly after that they became impossible to get hold of I believe due to fiat only making so many.

Hi, sorry about that, just conscious of the upload limit. I have added links to my Flickr account where the images are embedded. Looks like I may need to set up a photo bucket account for ease of use though.

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 31/05/2013 17:18

hi jasgol bought that porto in 2009 it had lots of history lots of upgrades momo wheels but suspension too crashy for rds in wales at time! i literally drove it half a mile after buying and aux belt snapped! i then had to leave it on sellers drive till it was arranged to be collected and dropped back at mine following day.. then had new belt fitted. used it for a few months but my then partner and i split so then sold to a young couple from donnington i think
i know the guy had a highly tuned celica i think and the coupe was for his partner.. was a very long drive for them i know that! was wondering if its still in use t.b.h

Great job Angelo on your porty inside and out, looks better every time! And those seats love are they just elbow grease or did you get them redone?

Ronnie how could you even contemplate it?? I know, we've all done it...then reason kicks back in. The rear bumper is a beautiful job, really good lines, also are the mirrors grey and coded in with anything else? I see the seats, is it an LE?

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 03/06/2013 21:03

Angelo ( F1 ANG ) your coupe is looking superb.

Tell your dad and sophia I was asking for them.

Catcha soon mate smile

Ps.

I liked the wheels more when they were silver but was advised by a least three styling guru's to match them with the rest of the grey parts, still think they look bigger when in silver confused

I sold it in 2002, I only had it a couple of years after getting a dealer in Exeter to find one for me (they brought it across from Germany) it was lowered with the Momos on when I got it, and yes it was a crashy ride but it had a mental 3rd gear! I know Rusper on here had it, it's the very first post on the 'your coupe pictures' thread….alas I think it's probably down the scrappies by now RIP.
it's funny how you get excited when you see photos of your old car…..or is it just me crazy

Just feel it's keeping me back and still costing me money and space.

Thanks for the comments Simon.

The side mirrors , front plus grill , rear bumper diffuser/valance , rear light cups , hubby rear brace , front lights , bottom part of front bumper and wheels are all grey (sparkly up close) may have missed something, pretty sure the only thing I left alone was the fuel cap because I love that.

Just Le seats Simon, I had a plan to do the middle section grey to match the rest, then thought enough is enough, I've also had 5 different style front bumpers fitted at one time or another..

I know it's not one for the purists laugh but hopefully not to far out there.

Thanks simon, the seats haven't being redone, they just came up really well, after a few treatments. I try to clean/condition them once a month. Seems to keep them looking good smile

No you definitely made the right choice. They do look bigger in silver, but IMO much better colour coded. Thats exactly how they'd be if it was my car anyway.

^ That is a great colour, maybe a little garish for the Coupe but works with the darker alloys.
Posted By: Anonymous

Re: Your Coupé Pictures Comments thread - 26/06/2013 09:10

was a bit unsure about the colour when I bought the car but like to be a bit different. I agree on the alloys considering doing them black or getting team dynamic pro race 1.2 to change it up

UK, unfortunately. Did you bring yours down under the Personal import scheme, or buy from someone in Aus? I would have / should have brought mine down but I never thought i'd be down here that long. Definitely a consideration for the future.

Switch to Full Reply screen where the forth icon along (which looks like a tv) pops up with an Image popper.
Paste your pic (say via photobucket) to there and it should download.
You can check on the preview page.

Thanks for the kind words. In my opinion the Lacia HPE Recaros are the best seats that you can have in a coupe.I prefer them to LE or Plus Recaros for their combination of leather and alcantara.

Re: Your Coupé Pictures (Pictures Only Please) - 21/12/2013 11:03

The guy I bought it off had only had it 2 weeks!
It has a lot of history from FCSS and had a recon head fitted in 2009 so the belts are due on age next year.
Its had some paint but is ok for the money I paid.
Wheels are growing on me but need wider rubber, maybe 225/40's.
First job is to get the t-stat done and investigate a clonk on the front.
