Work in progress: A Different Interior

Work in progress: A Different Interior - 26/05/2010 17:55

I was starting to get a little tired of my Tan interior and for some time have been looking for something slightly different. I am not really a fan of Black Seats so that kind of ruled out Plus seats, though I did consider going for an LE set rolleyes

I then saw a late model six speed with another option and the hunt began. Obviously Joe was the fellow who came to the rescue in the end cool

So out came the TAN Carpet and rear cards.

In went a Black Carpet, the rear cards and the rear seat back.

they took quite a bit of cleaning, but once done they looked so much nicer. They make the old Tan Seats look BROWN!!

Almost done.....

I still have some work to do to the Drivers seat. It really could do with the foam bolsters repairing or replacing, also either a leather repair or a segment replacing on one of the edges.

Oooh - don't recall seeing one that colour. Looks very similar to colour of my old '77 Mk1 Scirocco!

They are a rather rare option. I saw a set in an Ink Black six speed that was for sale a few years ago, I then saw a set more recently in an Energy Green Six Speed.

This set came out of an Energy Green Coupé but were not in great condition frown They have though cleaned up really well and will require a minimum of extra work to get them to a point where I am completely happy with them.

The transformation inside the car is amazing and the contrast with the dark carpet is really nice.

I was once looking for a VW Corrado STORM edition. Dark green, or blue, with the lighter leather option..... I ended up buying a Coupé rolleyes

Pieter,

I thought long and hard about selling my car and looking for a really nice Plus. I know though that it would be almost impossible to find one anywhere near as nice as yours frown

So I have decided to keep my Green one, probably forever.

That Said I would like to replace my Alfa 166, perhaps I could run two Coupés suicide

Notice how the rear and lower bolsters are different between the early and later seat types. The back bolster has slightly larger sides and the lower squab is wider.

I'm pretty sure I have a set of these particular colour seats lying in a shed somewhere. They came out of a late six speed which I kept when I got rid of the car, although I now have an LE.
