Photoshop request - 16/08/2010 15:04

Now that I've found THREE of my wheels to be cracked, I've been forced into a change of plan

So - would a kind photoshop expert please help me out

I need silver 17" Team Dynamics Pro Race 3 adding to a Moon Grey 20vt

You'll probably need to flip the wheel image to go with the orientation of the car (or vice-versa)

I can easily take another piccy of the car from a different angle if required

Sorry Nigel, bit rushed. If you could find the wheels on another car that would make things look a bit more realistic.

Here's my go at a slightly different wheel, Pro Race 1.2

I've just shown Nigel (who happens to be my Dad) and he's stuck between a rock and a hard place now, so see what everyone else thinks:

Re: Photoshop request - 16/08/2010 21:17

I'd go with the spokes, but more white-ish.

Re: Photoshop request - 16/08/2010 21:30

Re: Photoshop request - 17/08/2010 16:44

Anyone fancy photoshopping some silver ProRace 1.2's onto my car?

I think I'm decided on the multi-spoke design now - just got to decide between black and silver - my cracked ProRace 1's are black-chrome, which is a perfect mid-point between the two

Re: Photoshop request - 17/08/2010 20:16

AAAAaaaaargh!

I'm torn between black and silver

I'd normally be safe and go for silver, but I have to admit that black looks very good against the Moon Grey

decisions, decisions....

Re: Photoshop request - 17/08/2010 20:49

Nigel

I think your car looks stunning with the plusses love

Although in your case I can understand if you have to go to 17s.

Silver does it for me though.

Re: Photoshop request - 18/08/2010 00:30

Re: Photoshop request - 18/08/2010 18:02

i would ALWAYS go for silver wheels, but, on a moon grey for some unknown reason...........................I`d go for black wheels, and i aint got a friggin clue why smile

Re: Photoshop request - 19/08/2010 20:27

These are the wheels (that I assume are off an Alfa GT (?)) just quickly 'shopped onto Dad's car..

I think these are my favourite, but the 5 stud pattern and the 19 inch issues may cause a couple of problems wink

If maybe pro race 1.2s came in this sort of satin gunmetal-ish colour then i think a match is made cool

Re: Photoshop request - 19/08/2010 21:02

The Pro Race 1.2 come in "any colour I want" according to Team Dynamics - seeing as they will be machining a set especially for me (hence the 4-week lead time) they have said they will do any paint finish I want

I quite like the anthracite....

Re: Photoshop request - 20/08/2010 15:57

Decision made...

I visited the Team Dynamics factory today to look at the various choices of colour and styles of wheels - I was also treated to a quick tour of the factory - what a staggering place - tens of thousands, possibly hundreds of thousands of wheels in an immense factory - the painting booths and ovens were the size of mansions - very, very impressive

As was the service - I've heard some stories of poor service from Team Dynamics, but throughout my dealings with them, they have been very good

Anyway - they showed me a new Anthracite colour that they developed specially for Aston Martin - it looks really classy and is nicely mid-way between 'normal' silver and the very tempting black

Just got to wait 3-4 weeks for them to be machined and delivered.....

Re: Photoshop request - 20/08/2010 17:42

Can they do custom designs? Or just their range of wheels?
Posted By: Nigel

Re: Photoshop request - 20/08/2010 19:20

They will do one-off designs - I asked them

The cost is high - for runs of less than 100 wheels, they machine the wheel from solid billet using CNC milling machines and lathes

The design, tooling and test stage costs about £7,000 and then the wheels cost about £200 each

So - even if we got five takers (20 wheels) the cost would be £11,000, which equates to £2,200 per set shocked

Now - if we could get twenty buyers, the cost would drop to £1150 per set - better, but still very pricy

Re: Photoshop request - 22/08/2010 17:09

Nigel,
ordered some TD Pro Race 1.2s in black for my Scottie on (let me check my statement confused ) 13th July from Rochford Tyres in Essex - did me a really good deal for wheels + Toyo T1Rs. Delivery within 21 days. However am STILL waiting.... grr ... the wheels were to be made to order, and evidently two of the first four wheels manufactured failed quality control. At the moment I can put little blame on Rochford as they have made efforts to keep me informed (and thrown in locking wheelnuts as a sweetener laugh ). I will rattle the cage again tomorrow, as I would like the wheels for Wings and Wheels angel driving on Bank Holiday Monday.

However if they do not arrive in the next week I am going to cancel the order and just refurb my standards.

Slightly off topic, but I'm beginning to be suspicious about TD,

As a follow-up to my previous post, my wheels and tyres finally arrived on Thursday laugh . Fitted them yesterday, and just off to the garage to check the pressures. Then round to the local spares shop for some locking nuts!

Tim, although Nigel said he's had good service from TD, what you are experiencing is EXACTLY what happened to me, it was nearly 3 months before mine turned up, and when they did I had 3 wheels in one colour and another in a different shade of silver.
Their customer service was shocking to the point that they started making up lies!

I personally wouldn't use them again.

Happy with mine so far (after 6 miles!) At least they are all the same colour... smile ,

Because 215/40 17 is the closest you will get to the same profile as the standard 205/50 16 or 225/45 16
