ergal service pulleys - 03/10/2018 21:26

Hi everyone

i'm wondering if someone tried and tested lightweight ergal pulleys..
the auxiliary pulleys are very heavy and the gain in weight
switching from iron to aluminium is huge.

There was discussion on this 3-4 years ago but can't remember who done the conversion, give the search button a try.

Had 2 2.0TS Alfa 156 and one 20VT with crankshaft pulley from billet alloy, weights about 700 - 850g and no worry since.....
Better response......

Do you still have, by any chance, the technical drawings?

i'm referring also to the double pulley in front
connected with aircon/alternator, it's heavy like the hell
if i'm not wrong there was a kit on ebay but right now
isn't available frown

Its not all about weight, also very important is to make it smaller (underdrive pulley) as there is waste of engine power in rotational speed which is not required, as ferrarist stated above...
I made my pulley from renault engine F4R 8v, 22mm smaller in diameter, works like a charm, even ac is cooling fine...
