Oil pressure VS RPM

Oil pressure VS RPM - 25/07/2019 20:56

Evening all out of interest is there a pressure relief valve (PRV) on the 20vt engine which opens higher up the rev range. Im in the process of running the latest engine in and i just want to keep an eye on the oil as the rpm is raised.

I dont want to wined it up to say 7500rpm and freak out because oil pressure hasn't risen above 60PSI because its not needed and the PRV is open.

Any info would be great

Yes there's a PRV in the oil pump that passes oil back to the sump rather than out to the filter. The value isn't specified.

There's a spring and plunger prv on the side of the oil pump.
Its there for cold start when the oil and engine are cold. Pressure would be around 90 to 100psig if it was stuck closed.
60psig is around 4 barg which is ok

From what i have read you need between 10-20 PSI of oil pressure per 1K rpm, I see around 65 psi (hot) on tick over and 95 psi at 7k rpm so i think oil pressure is fine for my needs.
