Reinforced clutch

Reinforced clutch - 20/02/2023 19:33

Greetings.

I have a question: on a non highly modified fiat coupe 20v turbo
(about 260 hp) could a reinforced clutch bring improvements?

I think I've read that only after 300/320 hp does it start to be useful to have a reinforced clutch.

In any case, would it change anything? or just a painful knee. laugh

Thank you.

Upto 300ish bhp and the standard clutch is fine, so don’t waste your money on something you don’t need

Clutches should not be quoted in horsepower, they are rated in torque, so discard any company who specifies that a clutch is good for 400bhp

CG offer a fast road organic clutch which is rated higher then the standard Valeo, pedal is light with no effort to the action.

Was that the "fast clutch" you put in BumbleBee's resto Joe?

Yes stands a chance as they're not much more then a standard clutch for cost and you're future proofing should one decide to tweak the powa.

Whilst your link says stage 2, it links to a stage 3 which has a paddle friction plate, which isn’t necessary at the power you indicated

You want the Kevlar friction plate, but they only appear to list it as a separate item, so you might have to buy the cover plate separately

You won't need the kevlar friction, stage 1 friction plate required looks like the one in the link, if you're unable to find a price give them a call.
