Alternative Auto's is your best place to get it, doesnt really matter on make as they all do the same job at the end of the day

Nice one Begbie, was just going to ask that question:

"is there really any difference:

OMP steel, red, 60quid delivered.
Sparco steel, red, 70quid del.
Sparco alloy, silver, 100quid del."

....and you're saying they're all going to be the same really?

well the price is dependant on the colour and yes they will all do the same job, and that is, to bolt to you top mounts

Get the Red Sparco, easy peasy to fit and you can always spray it up beforehand for a few quid to match the car.

How do you set the srut brace, maximum outwards or inwards?

How much of a difference will a strut brace make if everything else on your car is as standard?

Re: strut brace - 25/12/2005 06:43

You don't set it maximum in or out. Just fit the ends and tighten the locknuts - it's there to stop flexing, not to push or pull the top mounts. Does it make a difference - well IMO, having done several trackdays, I can't say that it does. But others will tell you different.

Personally i think it does. For one it reduces torque steer on a standard - 250bhp coupe. Also it tightens the front end slightly and makes the car handle better.

On more modded coupes, i think it provides the extra stability along with an uprated suspension to keep the power at bay.

p.s. IMHO of course

Definetly worth having. I gave it the roundabout test, which is, start slowly round the same roundabout I always use, and see where it starts to understeer to the point of wandering off track. Before the strut it was about 36MPH, after the strut it was 40MPH before I had to back off.
