I think pipercross are what everyone goes for with the straight induction mod. You can clean your K+N you know and with the cash saved you can buy some sweets and bongo mags.

I bought a piperx off ebay for about £15

Its meant for a fiesta Zetec really but a bit of silicone adaptation and she will fit fine

I would soak the K&N in parafin overnight or if you can use the shower in your bathroom, soak it in fairy liquid or spray the fiary stuff onto it, give it a few mines to soak in, get an old scrubbing brush, scrub it then wash it out and then when dry give it a light spray with WD40 to oil it and make it last a bit longer

The apexi units are meant to be amoung the best for filtration and performace to be honest.

Good lord no, this is a family forum !! I believe Mr Pinin is a keen fan of the percussion instrument displayed here (work safe).

Or am I being naive ?

Or you could buy a cheap OE filter in a sensible size. For example old Saab 900 T16S filters, quite big, paper so filtration must be good and cheap. Or some filter off most small trucks, those are usually big (large filter area), yet cheap.

Or you could buy the proper recharge kit for a tenner, works really well.

Most people tend to go for Ram air actually as far as I know. I also know that Ross (not sure of his 100% correct forum name had a ram air fall apart on his straight induction + threw a nice bit of structural metal into his turbo - no prizes for guessing what happened to the turbo.

Yup I bought this at the same time as the filter charger. Used it 3 times now and it works a treat. You get cleaner spray that somehow draws tonnes of s**t out of the filter and a bottle of red oil to spray onto it after. Looks brand new each time
