2000 20v remove alarm control unit - 10/11/2020 19:11

Hi everyone

I’m looking to remove the alarm control unit from my Coupe and do without the alarm completely.

The fuse for the alarm plus clock, interior lights had been removed by a previous owner. Refitting it msde the alarm sound continuously - had to remove the fuse again

I have found and removed the siren unit, but the hazard lights flash continually - hence the need to remove the control unit. I need to know the location of the control unit - and whether removing it will cause other problems. Thank you

Above the fuse board as we discussed yesterday, I hope you've managed to find it.

Disconnect the big light blue connector, normally hanging somewhere between the right side of fuse box and the fuel cut off reset switch. That will completely disconnect and disable the alarm.

Thank you both FCSS and Graham, very helpful fellas. I will be attending to that over the weekend.

Best regards

Just pulled mine out, Coupe was stored over most of the Summer and I allowed the battery to flatten and now the fobs no longer communicate with the Scorpion alarm, peed off.

Batteries could be dead in both the fobs and the alarm siren. The siren batteries are rechargeable and when they expire they can draw too much current and drain the main battery for you. The 918U siren batteries can be replaced quite easily / cheaply, worth a try before ripping it all out and throwing it away ...

Replaced fob batteries to no avail. Do the batteries in the siren need to be serviceable for the alarm to arm/disarm etc? May have another fiddle but the reset procedure doesn't seem to work will miss remote locking but I guess I could buy a 3rd Party unit for that.
