Hangover I suspect
Spot on
However i apologise to no-one for the remark, people use the forum for advertising their wares and put nowt back. This isn't necessarily aimed at anyone specific though. If you have a problem with my attitude GJ88 maybe you should raise it by pm?

Re: thinking of selling my plus - 17/12/2011 20:24
My only problem is the fact that twice today, I've read you giving two separate users a dig, apparently due to their failure to pay a small sum of money to the club. I admire your commitment to raising money for the cause but I see no place for the attitude behind those posts.
That's all I have to say so there's no need to contain it to a PM

I respect you expressing your opinion as i hope you'd respect mine, an opinion as an individual I have every right to express

Ps. Joel you could keep it and put it under classic insurance with limited mileage which is cheaper and use it as a second car, I have done this and bought a more pratical car for my other needs.

Not wanting to start anything, but couldn't you have pm'd Pero?
I don't think its a moderator/board members role to berate people for their opinion on this forum, but I'll stand corrected.

@ Ross - as i said in my response it wasn't aimed at anyone specifically, as there've been quite a few lately. Why would I pm someone i wasn't specifically referring to?

Well, I'm not going to get one - let's be serious about it - but green would be nice enough and a special xmas treat after returning to the fold from abroad

Maybe I'm missing something, but you've quoted him and its in the same thread.
As for 'moderate' - yes by all means.
As to my original point, 'berate' - not really necessary.
I think the breaking issue is difference of opinion. Whether your allowed to advertise your breaking to profit from it on here - yes that's a moderating issue.
Offering an opinion on whether someone should break it ? Surely that's allowed?

Complain then, it's also your right
Also, let me help you with your wording;
" berate
verb; to scold harshly
Collins English Dictionary "
If that's berating someone you've had a soft life

Anyway back on topic
Joel why is it impractical now? What's changed? Not criticising but wondering why one of the top-of-the-range models is no good to you anymore.
Re other comments, of course it's your choice to break it if you so wish it's your car....just be prepared for opinion and comment from people populating the free world

Ok Steve.
What a great attitude. I'll post a letter to the 'you clearly don't give a crap how you deal with people, regardless of the fact your out of line' department.
I'm sure it will be well received.

Re: thinking of selling my plus - 18/12/2011 18:35
i didnt mean to start an argument on here.
anyway back on topic, i dont really use the car how it should be used, cant remember the last time i had a good blast in it.
the roads are getting too harsh around here now, spend most of my time avoiding potholes (think im getting old i feel every bump these days), im really struggling to get all my fishing gear in the car now, too many rough tracks to the lakes.
ive always liked to give my car the best and i just cant afford to these days

Joel i understand that, mine has pushed me to the brink of despair and financial ruination....i also fully understand your thought process in
maybe wishing to dispose of her - please don't think i was criticising you, i wasn't.
Good luck whatever you decide

Re: thinking of selling my plus - 18/12/2011 20:17
proccy i didnt think you were criticising me at all, this is a very hard discision for me, ive had coupe's for over 6 years and really love them.
got this one built to just how i wanted it (a lot of mods) but as much as i hate to admit it, it doesnt really suit my needs anymore and it doesnt seem right just pottering around in it.
after spending so much money on it and loving it for so long its really going to hurt to sell it cheap

Re: thinking of selling my plus - 18/12/2011 20:27
Feel for you fella, i came close to turning my back on mine a few times when engines let go, turbo's failed, belts coming off - and i haven't had it 3 years yet lol!!
Don't feel guilty about it though, bottom line is it's a car and it's yours. Of course some of us don't like to see these beauties broken but if it wasn't for the support I've had off here and specifically a few of the experts recently, mine would be in bits too!!!!
As i said earlier, good luck and of course i only hope you can sell it whole, but realise they're fetching nothing right now. Tough one mate

Re: thinking of selling my plus - 19/12/2011 05:59
Why not pick up a dirt cheap van/estate for day-to-day driving and, as others have said, insure the coupé on a limited mileage policy with classic status? Or SORN it if you have the space?
By the way, there *may* be a slight surge in demand in the early part of next year, especially for good condition high-end models so don't be too hasty. I won't say anything more yet.....
