The seats tell most of the story, I've seen plus's at 70K with far more worn seats. If it's straight besides the mileage, What a bargain. My coop is at the same mileage and I expect at least another 40K miles before a rebuild.

I must say, I am a little tempted at that price.

Even with 110k on the clock I thought it was probably a bit too cheap.

I does look in pretty good nick for the mileage though.

Carlt what makes you think its be spanked at the front? (Just looking for pointers on spotting dogs )

Looking at the pics, the front wing and bonnet look like a different colour to the door.

Anybody with any real experince would blend it through the door.

It might just be the picture

I think the 98 ink black with 70k on was is a better deal

I went to have a look at that one last week. The clock actually reads 102k. The guy said it had a new engine at 30k (his justification for advertising as 70k). Apparently it was "one of the ones that were recalled"?
There was a 5" scrape on the drivers door, wires hanging out from under the dash, corroded callipers loads of small dents on the bonnet etc. It was, IMHO, a mess.

This was the first FC that I have looked at, and to be honest has put me off the idea if that's as good as it gets for £3k!

That coop convinced me to get LE skirts for my coop. Scotts Green or Ink Black with Tan Leather - ye can't beat em!

That is tempting, but I was looking for a trade deal so I could part-x my motor (and have some change!). I might have to have a re-think!
Anyone want an Astra 1.6 SXI with 26k on the clock?

paint looks bad as mentioned previously, plus it looks to me as if the belt pretensioners have pulled, they look too short in that photo

Not sure whether you can make any real judgement about the paint without looking at the car. Although, it doesn't look quite right.

The pre-tensioners are in the real mechanism on the coupe not the buckle.

I'm real tempted to havbe a look at this car, purely out of curiosity When I was afetr my 2nd Coupe it is amazing how good some real dogs of cars can look in forecourt photos

I currently have a 20VNA and was looking at this, it seems cheap for a plus, i thought they were round the 6k mark? I was going to go down and look at this on Saturday is anyone else is going?

Re: Cheap Plus in High Wycombe - 08/09/2006 18:35

I don't think anyone else is going to look at it, we'll all under the impression from what's been said above that it's a dog! Could be wrong though and you could get a bargain

The ink black is only £2695 at 70k miles if the servicing is good then a bargain. In fact i could be tempted at that price.

Re: Cheap Plus in High Wycombe - 10/09/2006 01:35

I looked at loads of Coupes, travelled miles, wasted hours and got draged out of one dealer by my other half after threatening a punch on the nose after a 120 mile trip (240 around) to see a perfect, as new, will not find better coupe that was so shockingly bad it made me feel violent!

Don't give up just because you saw one 'cheap' dog.

You either pay a bit more money and find agood one or pay a little less and spend putting it right etc.

Dealers will always want top dolla for thiers and offer you shite for yours < they suck.
