20 VT 6 - W288 OCV - 04/09/2007 12:56

Anyone know of this car? any info would be apprietiated.

So far I have only spoken to the garage over the phone.

Its a 20 vt 6 in Moon Grey, 90k, FSH although no record of cambelt in the service book (is there a separate page in the book that it should be logged down somewhere??)

Apparently there is no marks on it and only one wheel is curbed, sounds unlikely to me!

Would Air be standard on this model or not? the girl I spoke too said it had but she sounded really unsure.

I am 6 hours away from this car so any info on it would be great if anyone knows who it used to belong to etc.

Oh and it is in the Southeast near basildon if anyone is nearby.

Thanks
Simon

might be worth asking power fiat if they have ever worked on the car, at 90k i would *hope* that the cambelt has been changed. there should be a receipt for it or something. when paul at motormech checked my belts he just pulled back the cambelt cover and recognised the text imprinted on the belt which meant it had come from steve at alternative autos, and was fairly recent.

just round the corner from me..... but I'm going to have a look as I'm interested for myself. Damn work keeps getting in the way and the boss wasn't too keen on me 'working' from home

Unfortunately its just to far away from me and the terms of buying when travelling as far as I will have to complicate things.

daedos let me know when you have had a look, would like to know what it is like just out of interest.

Hi Simon - went to see it on Friday before my weekend away and I'm glad you didn't drive the 6 hours! I was really after a yellow/red coupe but this seemed to good to pass up, however....

Good points:
FSH, though not fiat or specialist
Good condition interior
Same owner for last 4-ish years
um....

Bad Points:
Nose was completely stone-chipped - needs respray
Roof has no lacquer and patchy paint - ditto
Last cambelt change was 4yrs/50K ago so due another one.

My guess it that is was taken as a P/X by a main-ish dealer and passed to this disposal company as it would never sell on the forecourt. I reckon it needs about 1k to make it right and then after that it isn't such a great bargain.

How much was it up for ?

Re: 20 VT 6 - W288 OCV - 10/09/2007 23:53

£3200 so those negatives are to be expected at that price.

Turning up expecting it to be perfect and moaning at stonechips on a 90k 8 year old car is plain silly especially at nearly half price.

is that all for the paint job? (+ a door needed doing)

Er yeh, £500 say with a door.

Anything you look at would need paint, just look at some of the so called mint cars like in the for sale section here or on the trader at the proper prices.

Then, when you've seen the shockers you will be glad to see a few stone chips.
